mornin' all.
i've got a bit of a prob and wondered if any of you had any ideas.
basically i've got a nice headstock stand, does me well for both my bikes (954 blade and 600F) BUT i have a major problem with the 600F.
basically, its a trackbike and the track fairing sits quite low meaning i cant get the headstock stand on with the top fairing bolted in place as it would crush it. this means if im at a trackday and need to change to my wets i have to unbolt half the fairing as well and its a pain in the arse.
i've used the ones that have 2 prongs that sit under the forks but they make getting the wheel off difficult (no access to spindle) and they're not that stable.
i was thinking of perhaps getting an abba stand, always liked the look of them but the little jack to hoist the front up would cause probems again as my fairing is a fibreglass race fairing with an enclosed bellypan. in other words the jack would just be pushing the front up on the fibreglass. now its pretty strong but i dont like the idea of putting the weight of the front of the bike on it.
another thought is, i've seen a difference style of front paddock stand that sits at an angle and has prongs that go up and in the bottom of the fork but i've never seen them sold anywhere.
the rear isnt really an issue, still using cups at the moment but i'll be welding on some threads for bobbins at the end of the season so that'll be nice and secure
just wondering if anyone has any front stand suggestions?

I have had a similar issue when I wished to use my headstock stand that I bought years ago for my Exup 1000.But when I needed to use the same stand for my R1 the spindle for the Exup was totally inadequate, being of differant dimensions.
So I bought myself some bar stock and machined up a new spindle that would clear the fairing on the underside of the R1 headstock and that fitted the Exup1000 headstock stand.
But if I need to remove the top and bottom yokes I either use some blocks under the exhaust,or an old forkleg through under the engine and resting on some axle stands.

What I am making up though are some extended axle stands which will support the old fork leg, from which I can suspend the frame using some webbing strap. ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?
