Weird query here but I have been ill for the last week and half meaning I haven't been able to go out riding on the bike. So I left my helmet in a bag tucked away so it wouldn't get knocked up.

However just tried it on and it feels like it has expanded too twice the size of my head and even moves when moving my head around. So can helmets expand withing a week if left alone, sounds silly to me but cant figure why its not fitting correctly anymore ?

Nope not had a hair cut thats planned for saturday, the helmet has been just left in a caberg helmet bag. Checked the padding and it seems the same as before. Image below

^^ This was also my first thought.

What do you reckon to that Caberg bag? I've used mine 3 times now and the top part of the zip is screwed up.Gotta take it back but wondered if they were all badly made?

Your head has shrunk.

I wear a builder's hard hat at work and sometimes I have to adjust it because it's loose, then other times I come to put it on and find it's so tight it won't even fit.

I was thinking along similar lines....

Glad your back, Sam... Snowie was wondering where you'd got to!

As for your hat; it wasn't that great a fit before you were ill, if I recall. And while lining in your hat wont have shrunk, making a bigger hole for your head in that time; being ill, shape of your head is likely to have changed; when ill you tend to burn a lot of body fat, and loose water, and while you don't have MUCH fat around your skull, semi-feverish, what little is there will have shrunk, but will mostly be around your cheek and jowels, that after illness 'hollow cheek' look... stick your hat on, swing head from side to side, and that gap around your jaw is where it has extra slop....

Just wait till you are back up to 'health' before you buy a new hat!

(& Check your oil before you go for a ride! Wink )

I have just checked my weight on the scales and I have gone back down to 10 stone (was at 11 before) however that is nothing new. Normally vary between 7-11 stone every couple of months.

Could be that thought didn't think about checking it before.

Germ- The bag is amazing cost me £11.99 of of ebay and its actually amazing when wearing it, havn't tried it on the bike yet however going do that soon. Only problem is I've got carry that around with the tankbag now at university when I go Sad

Thanks mike wasn't going risk riding whilst constantly chucking up my guts and falling off to sleep at the drop of a hat. It's mainly around the cheeks/nose area which seems like it has got smaller.

I've gone gold Mr. Green

Laughing Well, if you hadn't kept dropping your hat, might have helped both problems! Wink

I'd make sure you cut some holes to see out of before you wear it whilst riding Laughing

I don't really notice it that much anymore apart from searching the wardrobe for small/medium sized tops. It's least of the health worries at the moment anyway but thats something else.
