Well i got the bike this morning and so far ive done.... 500 miles! yeah ive been on it for 9 hours putting it through its paces... so far not a single problem. The rvf handles so bloody well it has scared me on a couple of occasions how quickly it can respond! faster then i could ever react. Lovely bikes recommend them to anyone who wants a 400 and i realy realy think this is enough power for me for along time!

500 miles is pretty good going.
Don't worry about what G says, I still love my NC30 Smile, although I suppose I am used to the power now and would enjoy a bit more......but I don't really need it. Wink

Uh-huh. Wonder how many times we've heard that one??
If you class a long time as about 8 months then cool. 400's really get you used to the power of bigger bikes but are lacking just slightly. Great bikes all of them but just not enough to keep you going for a long time. I was thrashing a mates CBR6 last night and it was sooo much fun!
It's just natural progression.

130mph 2 hour run on the motorway kinder helped add up the miles Rolling Eyes thought the forum curse was coming true when i got a 125mph tank slapper, grabbed the bars and wrestled them back under control Smile cue 100ft brown mark in my pants!

i realy dont see how anyone could need anymore power!

It's not top speed I want more power for, it's acceleration.... a 600 definatley does 0-60 noticabley faster than 400.. there's only a little difference as you go further up engine capacities.... However the acceleration from 80+ will be significantly improved and you can be a much 'lazier' rider in everyday riding, ie you can just turn the throttle rather than knock it down a few to get into the powerband.
Being able to wheelie off the power at 100 also seems to hold a strange fascination for me Very Happy.

BTW, FYI: if what you got *was* a tankslapper rather than a speed wobble then 'wrestling' it actually makes it worse.... it transfers the shake to the rest of the bike.

wondered why grabbing the bars made it worse for a second before i regained control Rolling Eyes luckily the bikes light was easy to wrestle back on course

I have never had a tank slapper either, plenty of headshakes though.

The worst happened when I hit a hump in the road at about 95mph, the bike left the ground and landed on the front wheel.......not nice but quite easily controlled......although nige had a laugh about it. Rolling Eyes
