Laughing LS125 japanese imports are 125 2-stroke "city-bikes".

Laughing Laughing Laughing stupidly small and light they have a mental powerband, and around 27+ bhp(i think) but omg they cannot go round corners....and if you hit even the smallest of pot-holes you're in shit!

why, do ya want one mate?!? Laughing

it holds you in the seat so that when you reach 100mph and brake hard you get pulled back into the seat so you dont go bouncing down the road Razz

its actually an elastic band that winds up when your riding, when you get to a certain revs it releases it giving you extra power, thers one elastic band per gear.

Hi

I like the elastic band theory.

Oh well.

Anyway various parts of the engine work best in a certain rev range. Normally on a sporty bike all the parts will be matched up so that they are all doing their best at high revs. The exhaust works by using preasure waves to suck the exhaust gases out of the cylinder. The carb inlet is designed so that it gets a similar resonant effect to stuff fuel/ air into the engine. The down side is that outside the best range it is nto so effective, and at about half the revs the parts work best at they make things far worse. Instead of drawing exhaust gases out of the engine the exhaust does its best to push them back in. This is why any sporty bike has a flat spot at about half peak power (that and some makers take advantage of this to help get the bike through noise tests).

Basically the power band is the area of the rev range where all the components are working and making the bike produce decent amounts of power.

All the best

Keith
