Some of you may have seen my Bandit project.

Basically the chain on the bike has been put in the old engine oil for weeks and moved around every week or so but is still quite stiff.

Can I use it and replace it in a couple of months? Or should I just replace it and stop being such a tight arse?

What would you do?

Replace.

If it snaps, carves a hole in the crankcase or your leg it'll cost you a lot more. It's just not worth it.

Yeah I guess. I'd best put it on the list.

Both of the sprockets are good though.

Whats an x-ring anyway?

Just an o-ring seal but with an x cross section so it forms 2 seals per ring.

MandP list a standard chain for 21 quid and a heavy duty for 27.

So what's better? O or X?

My next question was can I get a chain from anywhere if I found the dimensions.

But now Temeluchus has found some and m and p ill get one. They didnt even come to my mind, I completely forgot! Laughing

I may as well get the heavy duty one.

Cheers!

X-rings supposedly seal in the grease better.

Standard chain for the B400 is 525x114.
