Hi.....my son has a Sanya 125 on an 09 plate which he bought a little while ago and I want to do an oil change for him but not sure what grade of oil it would need or quantity?

Any help would be appreciated.

er...in the manual?

If not its usually 10w - 40 grade and the quantity of oil is usually stamped on the side of the engine near the filler cap

Does it not have a sight glass? The Sanya i just flogged did. Don't forget the clean the mesh filter which requires removing the big bolt just in front of the gear change.

If I recall correctly it's just a litre. 156FMI??? cg copy engine. The same lump that's in my HN125.

10-40 synth bike oil, I'd recommend

Just be careful as you fill up and keep a hawk eye on the sight glass / dipstick. Regular changes are a must, especially with such a primative motor.

As a general rule 10w40 is what you want, unless it's either really old or has few very large cylinders in which case something thicker is needed.

I concur. Also, get the mesh oil filter out and clean it. It's under a large nut on the side of the engine - nearside, at the bottom. 23mm, or thereabouts.
