hi,

iv just got a stator for my dr 600 and it all fits good appart from where it connects to the wiring loom theres a 4 pin plug that comes out the stator along with a few other plugs, now they all connect up to the loom appart from the 4 pin one and theres two 2 pin plugs on the wiring loom.

so as i havnt got the old stator i cannot compare them and there 2 kinds of stator a single icup and double pic up and the one i have is a double.how can i check if my bike should be single or double ?

as the bikes is in the process of been rebuilt i cannot check for a spark yet.

any suggestions peoples

Quite often on a generator there are three common wires coming out of a Star/delta windings

https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_2/chpt_10/5.html

From most Japanese bikes with a Star winding, all three wires are the same.Even if yours has only two wires supplying AC volts to the rectifier, they are commonly the same colour. The other wire/wires are the signal output for the ignition circuit.

So,if the wires can be matched up,cut off the connectors and use crimp on bullet connectors from places like Toolstation.

well they may just be whats not needed i havnt lokked into it properly so what il do is fit and ignition barrel as there int one and then see if im getting a spark.

also as this bike is a single cylinder with 2 spark plugs should they spark alternate with each other ?

iv looked at the wiring diagram thread but only list the dr350,400 and 650 no 600.

hopefully it shouldnt be hard to sort but its one of those things where i need to sort 2 other things before i can sort another.
