This is just to inform you that on Sunday October 9th many of the roads around Wrexham & Denbighshire (including the Horseshoe Pass) will be closed for a Cycle event.

More details on the event and routes affected can be found at www.etape-cymru.co.uk.

There will also be road signs up in the two weeks prior to the event indicatating roads affected and timings of road closure.

Please pass this information on to anyone you know who maybe planning on riding in the area on that day so are aware of potentila disruption and delays.

Apologies in advance for disruption this may cause.

Many thanks

K-Extreme

That's one way of viewing it. Another way is "Gaa, who are you lycra clad buffoons to deny the public the use of public roads for your silly cyclopathy event?"

I'm minded to be tolerant myself, but I can rather see his point.

Look, I hate cyclists as much as the next sensible man (especially lycra-clad ones!), but you can't sabotage events like that just because they irritate you. It wouldn't stop until no-one could organise anything any more.

So what's the consensus on this story?:

Oil spill at the Mid Antrim race 'strategically placed'

Presumably the goal of the race sabs is to ensure that nothing that closes off public roads does get organised, at least not round their gaff.
