Just thinking about what I want to go onto next as you do. I was thinking V-twins, and first thing that popped into my head was a superduke, but being fairly inexperienced (well thinking of keeping the hornet for 2 years so will have 3-4 years by then) so think that may be a bit to mental.

So a midrange V-twin, the Shiver or Monster are the only things that really stand out to me, and I think I prefer the Aprilia. What do people have to say on them? are they a bit learner? Anyone own one? Any other recommendations?

Then again I might just go for a street triple r Cool

Tuono Mr. Green

Nothing is too mental, I spent.. a month on a Daytona 600 as a first big bike... Then hopped on a GSXR1000 for a few months Laughing Thats a bigger leap, but you'll be fine.

If you dont buy a Tuono, grab a big twin, TL1000R/S or Aprilia Falco Wink A Falco went pretty cheap round by me not that long ago, had a scoot on it, its fun Laughing

I can't say about the shiver as I have never ridden one, but the 600 monster is gutless. I hated it (I'm not a twin fan mind).

When I was getting shot of the busa I test rode the 600 monster, street triple, speed triple and the kwak z1000 for a street fighter type bike. I wouldn't have minded any except for the monster, horrible. Maybe the bigger one is better.

Done a bit of research on here and a couple of people say the shiver isn't bad but went for the likes of a street triple instead, but I like the idea if having different power settings on the move.

Paddy from what I have heard the Tuono brings on sudden spells of parkinsons Laughing It's not the jump I am worried about, just there reputation for being hooligan bikes. Also I don't want to start getting bigger bikes early on, means if I want something smaller then I might feel it lacking somewhat. Think I will try to hit a middle ground.

Heard similar about the Monsters too, was thinking of the S2r but looking at the specs it comes out with a gutless 75hp Neutral

Like I said this won't be for a couple of years, so there will probably be something else I want come that time. In fact I really like the look of the 796 Hypermotard, but don't think it will be very practical being (well most likely) my only form of transport

That power settings stuff is absolute shit.

I test rode a gen 2 busa with it and played around. garbage IMO. I am an experienced rider and maybe an inexperienced rider will find it usefull but I really think not.

Rainy, dont twist the throttle so hard. What else do you need to know.

On a busa/1000cc bike it might be almost acceptable. On a 600ish bike bollocks. I can't fuck up my street triple, the tyres are that good and I do try!

I know, but I just want to be able to flick it into sport mode Cool Laughing

Hornet is the same, accelerated hard in the wet the other day and the front was trying to lift, those BT023's are bloody good in the wet. It's not like I need the power modes either, I know how to ride in the wet, it's just a cool toy
