I have contacted a mod for permision before posting this.

As title, I dont normally have a pop at people over the net on forums but I think the folks on here should know so as theres no danger of the same happening to them.

You may remember I offered some bike gear for free on here back in August to try to help some folk out on the understanding if it needed posting I would have to be reimbursed the postage. On the whole this worked out well with folks happy to pay the postage and pleased with what they received. Apart from the member Carlosaurus, who was very pleased with his boots which he received on 17th August but as you can guess has still not paid his postage despite saying he will but never does in various PM's.

Its not really about the £8, its the principal, now I'm thinking twice about doing the same thing again to help people out which spoils it for others, I know I could insist on the postage first but I never thought anyone who was being helped out for free would do this sort of thing. So all i can say now is if you have any financial dealings with this member insist on payment first, I'll just look forward to meeting him at one of the bike meets.

Wow, £11.00 that's expensive, did you send em same day Laughing

Sorry, I'm a bit drunk.

He should pay, end of. If what you say is Kosher then he should be ashamed.

Next time get the money upfront if you want to help out, sorry it ended up like this for you.
You try to do someone a solid and they treat ya like this.

Bad show!!!

It has to be a missunderstanding??
He seems happy enough with the more than reasonable postage rate in the posting below

Perhaps he's just forgot, busy, gone on holiday ?

Benefit of the doubt still given at this stage, not been that long or a great amount, still should of insured he paid up sharpish esp considering the generosity involved. Idea

payyy the mannnnnn .

i once lended the grand amount of ten pounds to someone.

for the entirety of 1 whole month he dodged me so as to get out of paying it back .
the fact that it was 10 pounds made it worse .
if it had been a big amount i would of understood and possibly not of been so pissed off .
as a result of this i took the wheels from his car .
i found it rather insulting that he could not confront me over ten pounds . instead he dodged me like a worm .
its a horrible feeling to have someone be so grubby around you when all you have done is tried to help them wether its financial or some other cause and very insulting

When I first read this, I thought, perhaps Carlosaurus had been offline or something worse but he has been a regular poster.
Have to say Carlosaurus, that is bad form especially considering A5tra_G's generosity of giving us stuff for free.

I say "us" as I was the very fortunate recipient of the Frank Thomas leather Jacket that A5tra_G gave away. Again many thanks to A5tra_G for not only the jacket and his generosity but also it has made the fiancée feel a bit easier me getting into biking, that not only I will be wearing a quality jacket, but generally the ethos of bikers is different from cagers.

Another vote for the paying of the postage.

Astra was decent enough to give his stuff away free provided he has his costs covered. He could have put them on Egay and got a bit of cash for them but if I remember the thread correctly he offered the gear free because he knows bike wear is costly and wanted to help out. It led to several members giving away stuff on the thread.

The decent thing is pay the postage. It wont break the bank, its only £8.

Half of me thinks that are all supposed to be members on the same forum and it would be akin to ripping off a mate. Just not the done thing and not right that other people will suffer because of one person being an arse.

Other half of me thinks, Its an internet forum with guys you dont really know and the only common interest is the machines we ride and every now and then we'll come across the good and the bad. Learning experience and if the OP does it again he sould ask for payment upfront (Although not thru paypal as that can be returned easily)

Grr... Bad show old chap!

Problem is that he can't just apologise (while making payment!) to OP.. He now has to apologise to us all for his gross lack of competence...

£8 for a set of boots is amazing...! I only spent £20 for mine and was over the moon!

Principle is the meaning... get it paid and straighten it out..

Astra - If he doesn't, I will give you £10 if you take him on the Jeremy Kyle show,,, haha!

You could sue for new teeth aswell!!

Say that the parcel was returned empty and when the postman passed it to you, he burst out the box, knocked the teeth out then ran off giggling while waving a tenner in the air?
