Wimp!
My old Bike saw rain, torrential rain, floods, snow, ice, hailstones, hurricanes and dense fog.
But then I have no other way to get to work. |
Ah, see. We've got 4 vehicles and 2 of them are turbocharged petrol cars. I don't need the bike to get my kicks. Sad as it is, I only use it for fun when I fancy it and getting wet ain't no fun!
It's a luxury of getting older. When I was a nipper, and only had the bike, I did my fair share of wind, rain, hail, snow, ice and crashing. I'm trying to give all that a miss nowadays. ____________________ Greetings from Shitsville! |

There is a SUPERB website for a short term weather prediction
https://www.raintoday.co.uk/
Paste in your home post code for an enlarged map of your general area.
Basically the site shows the radar cloud pattern over the last 3 hours. No yellow splodges = no rain. Yellow = light/ normal rain. Orange = heavy rain.
From the cloud pattern and the progress over the last 3 hours any normal person will be able to make a good judgement of what is coming next.
In my area with prevailing wind from the south west a load of yellow/ orange over the Irish Sea and into North Wales would mean "beware" even if seemingly the weather at my house was still good & dry

I also have a turbo (albeit diesel ) powered car as my main means of transport, so my bike is only for the nicer days or at least dry. What i was trying to say is surely to never get caught out once or twice is damn lucky when living in this country. I've seen adds for 5/6 year old bikes with 15k miles and 3/4 owners which state "never seen rain" , how is it possible the present owner can know this? I'd find it far more believable if it was said only been caught out in rain a few times or something similar. I think if they can tell a little lie about something like never been out in the rain what else could they be hiding? I'm starting to think i'm looking far to in to this, especially when ive recently bought a bike and the word rain wasn't even mentioned in the add. |

Go to your local bike meet.
How many Ducatis (or if you prefer, insert your favourite exotic bike model Here) do you see that are absolutely immaculate, with a few K on the clock and 2 inch wide chicken strips?
Exactly. Loads. Some people use their bike for posing and polish it the rest of the time. I bet most of them haven't seen rain ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600
