wells i had a few scratches on my bike (yellow gsxr k4) so took it to the local spray shop and the bloke says he specalises in motorbikes. "great i think". he says he is going to spray the front right hand fairing and the seat unit and to bring it back next monday and it will be ready for the weekend. He said he would have to remove all the decals so i order new ones. I drop the bike off on monday and get a call on friday. convo goes like this

me. hello mate getting on okay ?

him. we have got abit of a problem mate we don't have the right paint and will need to order it from suzuki it will be here tuesday

me. Ok shell i come down to chat

him. yeah ok see you soon.

So i walk down there and see my bike, it is untouched all fairings are on it and no decals have been romoved and nothing is rubbed down. i can't understand why he didn't touch the bike until friday and then relised he didn't have the right paint. Why didn't he call me befor because i dout he could of got all the work done in a day.

i take the bike back on the weekend and drop it back in on tuesday, i call him tuesday afternoon and he says the paint is there and he will start it tomorrow and it will be ready saturday. So today he calls me at 13.00 and says come down at 15.00 and collect the bike everything is going fine it jsut needs to be polished.

So i go down there at 16.00 and the bike is in bits and the convo goes like this

him. alright harry do you want to good or bad news

me. whats wrong now ?

him. its prayed but its the wrong colour

me. i though you got the paint direct from suzuki

him. yeah i did and it was going fine until i sparyed the metalic coat onto it

me. for fuck sake why didnt you call me and if you hadent done that until after 13.00 how was it going to be laquared and polished by 15.00

him, im the painter i know what im doing it will be done my tomorrow ill mix up my own paint

Stop being obsessed about a few scratches?

Sounds like the guy is either taking you for a mug or has bad organizational skills.

I assume there is no going back now as he has done some work, so just hope for the best...

Personally i think if you are going to be a tart you deserve to get fucked like one Razz

You do realise you'll probably drop it in the next few days. It's the rule after getting shiney fresh paint.

No of course, he should do what you have paid/agreed for him to do. Not some bodge job which im sure you could have yourself.

I see cosmetic work as pointless, thats where im coming from on that...

He's not your "mate", he's your employee, and he's doing a piss poor job of it. Do a ride off, tell him to invoice you, and you'll maybe pay it a week on Wednesday, or next month at the latest, unless it takes longer. You may have to print up the money yourself, mind.

Oh, and name and shame.

So is it not done then after he mixed up his own juice or have you dropped it again?

Personally, after he fouled up the 1st time I woudn't have ever taken it back there!

Unless there is a reasonable excuse, like his little bag of kittens were run over or he got caught fucking his sister, I would have gone elsewhere or done it myself.

Not having the paint isn't good enough. If you accept a 'job' you should have the stuff to do it. - If its the 'wrong colour' then I would insist that the whole bike is sprayed that colour for free or it is rectified the next day.. for free...

As said it was a few scratches, all will be undone when it visits the floor.

I'd be making sure before he starts hes doing this at a reduced rate, you are without your bike due to his error... charge him for it.

Hmm, all too true. This had been done not very long at all before I put a nice fat ding in that side of the petrol tank. Thanks for the reminder Crying or Very sad

I'm still really pissed off about it, although I reckon I now know how I managed to drop it...
