ebike monthly policies to be no more

ebikeinsurance.co.uk will be phasing out their pay as you go monthly insurance policy as from 7th September.

Sure to help their customers no end.

I used to use them for private bike insurance, courier insurance prices at ebike are mental but for private are pretty good.

Well that makes sense. I just got a monthly quote for them, and one month was more expensive than a year elsewhere. It used to be consistently just less than twice the monthly cost of an annual policy for me, which was at times useful.

I presume their tactic for phasing it out is therefore hiking up the price exponentially.

I'd suspect that they got a lot of claims along the line of "Hello, my bike's just been nicked, lucky I took out that policy 48 hours ago, at a time when my bike totally hadn't been stolen yet."

Also, there may have been pressure from Plod or the DVLA goon squad because of the new "continuous insurance" (now there's a misnomer) law.

Hmm im using Ebike at the moment till student finance is sorted and haven't heard anything about this ... nice of them to let customers know about changes. Thankfully they have taken the payment so won't be on it any longer after this month.

One of my bikes is on their pay as you go policy as I wanted to wait for the other policy to expire and get both bikes on one policy, I haven't heard about that at all. Guess I will have to get some quotes and move elsewhere
