Had my test bright and early this morning, turned up 15 mins early, checking through the papers, I forgot to bring the CBT certificate Very Happy Not a good start by any means, beg and plead with the instructor, call my mum up to deliver the certificate and luckily he had an empty slot an hour later, so managed to do the test!

All the slow riding stuff I found to be an absolute piece of piss (even on a cruiser Laughing ), I'd been practising ridiculously tight U turns thinking it would be difficult and found they gave you so much more space than you needed.

Only thing I struggled with was the swerve avoidance, was going too slow the first time and forgot to go through the speed checker the second time! He was kind enough to let me have another go, already nervous, went too fast, didn't slow down quick enough and didn't stop within the blue cones, but just a bit past it. (Is this normally a fail?) The swerve test was the only fault I got (going too slow), nothing else on the sheet at all, so maybe he let it slide.

Regardless, he passed me and off I go happily back home...Less than 2 miles away from the test centre, my drive chain jumps off the front sprocket and wraps itself neatly around my back wheel, and if I hadn't been setting off from the lights, would probably be needing some medical help right now.

I knew the chain was too slack and was going to do it when I changed the oil the other day, but didn't have a spanner big enough! Now I've had to pay the nearest garage to fix it up for £24, but atleast it's properly adjusted I guess >_> And apparently need new brake pads at the front as well. Should be an easy job hopefully.

Its been an eventful day to say the least, was shitting myself about any damage to the engine/sprockets by the chain so neatly coming off, but nothing happened. So woo!

Time to book Mod 2 and get rid of the bloody 125 with with its bloody L plates!

Moral of the day: Buy a fucking spanner.

Yeh, a lot of luck involved in the day, but its done now, so onwards!

What a different a properly adjusted chain makes though! Acceleration feels noticeably better, even if it means I got chain oil all over my back wheel now >_>
