Hello friends,
I am Robert and I just registered here. I have Suzuki GZ125 Motor and I bought Beret alarm and its installed.

But it has left 2 cables to connect and I dont found where to connect. The cable that from alarm to the motor is PINK and GRAY. From the alarm, that cable is from relay switch off and on. I will attach the diagram for the alarm to see it.

If I use the alarm remote to start the motor, it can not start because the F1 light is flashing.

in the diagram,

pink cable goes to extension line next to lock
gray goes to extension line next to motor body

I hope someone will help me. Thanks!!! I will be very happy to solve it

That looks like it's the immobiliser part of the alarm. The wire they go to is the one that goes to ground (earth) when the ignition is switched off.
Mine didn't have this so I had to leave it disconnected :/
In actual fact... it looks very much like a Cyclone alarm...

When you say the F1 light is flashing... What is the F1 light ? Is it on the bike or alarm?

edited to add :
Looks like your ignition is the same as mine and doesn't have a link to ground when switched off.

Could it be the side stand switch stopping it remote starting? (that would be my guess)

If anyone can suggest alternative wiring for the pink & grey wires though, I'd be interested too!

Oh thanks Andy. The F1 I was talking about is on the bike the place where the speedometer is.

In the alarm cable pink, I have to connect to the bike cable Black/Red and Gray cable to connect to the bike cable Black/White. And in the bike this 2 cable Black/Red and Black/White joined together. So I cut it and Black/red to pink and black/white to gray. And when I start with remote, I saw that the pink cable was burning. so I disconnected back again..

I really need more explanation.

Without trying to sound rude or condescending, you really need a bit of background on motorcycle electrical systems. Get hold of a wiring diagram for your bike, study it, learn where components are and how they're connected.

Don't trust the alarm's instructions about which colour wires to use on your bike - they can be wrong and if you blindly go in without verifying the *component* you're actually connecting the alarm to, you may well butcher your wiring loom and possibly damage other components on the bike. If you are not technically skilled or confident with electrical things (specifically bike related - e.g. do you know how to use a multimeter, solder, crimp etc?) seriously consider getting a professional or knowledgeable friend in to help. Thumbs Up

+1 to what Neil said.

To start with, you need to disconnect the grey & pink wires and rejoin the wire you cut.
I don't think that the remote start will work for you due to the side-stand switch. It is possible to bypass it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I am Electronic Engineering Technician, So I know how to use them but I think I have to find someone who is a motor electrical to help.

Andy, Thanks alot!! But that cable I cut it, I have already connected it and if not the key can not start.

But, I am going to try one more with the side-stand switch.

As a guess, these alarms look pretty common - the pink/grey wires go continuous all the time except when you use the remote start and the engine is running. I also think the key switch in the ignition will break the connection too if you've wired everything up properly. The pink/grey wires join up the 'ignition disable' connection that some ignition key switches have and disconnect them when you start the bike, like the key would do when you turn it to switch the ignition on. It's essentially an immobiliser as when the alarm is armed you can't hot-wire the bike easily. Check your ignition switch - if you just have 2 wires coming out of it, then you won't use the pink/grey wires at all. Tie them up out of the way and insulate them.

The brown wire on the alarm is a switched live that splices into the switched live from the ignition switch. So when you use your remote start, the alarm shoves 12V down it to power the ignition. The blue wire on the alarm feeds to the starter relay, and triggers it with the remote start function to start cranking the starter motor. No key required. However, disarming the alarm and using a key instead to start should still work.

Now here are the important questions:

1. Does your bike have a simple 2-pole ignition switch?

2. Is it fuel injected?

3. If it is fuel injected, is there a secondary fuse box somewhere - if so how many fuses does it have and can you isolate the one that, when you pull it out, kills the engine but leave lights etc still going? If so, there's a better way of connecting this alarm...

BTW, I will probably delete this post after you get everything going because this sort of information might be of use to the more unsavory members of society!

Well, I dont know if it is a fuel injected. And the bike have only 2 fuse. i will add some photos to check

https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/suzuki_marauder_gz125_2010.php

It is fuel injected (and you could have used Google to find that out, you lazy sod!). Wink Seriously find a wiring diagram for the bike. You could try the wiring diagram thread here (use the search function on the forum and dig for it yourself - we're not spoon feeders!). Start it up and pull those fuses out one at a time. One of them should make the engine stop. Make sure this isn't the main fuse - it must be one that only passes volts when you switch on the ignition. You know how to use a multimeter, being an EE tech and all...

Connect the brown wire to the OUTPUT wire on the bike which from the fuse you just pulled. I mean this:

IGNITION SWITCH ------------- FUSE ---(splice alarm/brown here)--------

This way you have a crude immobiliser with the alarm taking over control of the ignition system - you can't hot-wire the bike from the ignition barrel and can only start the bike via the alarm key fob in combination with your key. If you don't want the immobiliser but want the other functions of the alarm, just put the fuse back in and all is well.

BTW I am making a lot of assumptions about the electrics on your bike here, I might be wrong and without a wiring diagram, we can't verify whether this will work - try it at your own risk!!!!

Neil, I am thinking different now because I have open the alarm and I see that the pink and the grey cable is coming from a relay switch. when the alarm is off then that 2 cable is close and when to use the alarm to start, then that 2 cable is open.

Another issue, if I use remote to start the bike + clutch then the bike want to start. But the problem is, The F1 indicator is flashing instead of off.

Because if I use the bike key to start, the F1 indicator comes on then it go off in some seconds. I am very worried. But we have to share an ideals to do it Neil.
Thanks!!!

It depends on your bike if you can use the pink/grey - yes they will basically bridge a connection that exists in SOME bike's ignition barrels that grounds the ignition coil - stops it firing the spark plug. When you start the bike, the relay switches off and breaks that connection. When you stop the bike, the relay closes the connection and earths the coil - immobiliser. I did say that in my second post... Rolling Eyes

The brown goes into the output 12V side of the ignition barrel - it'll be dead when the key is in the off position and live with +12V when the key is in the on position.

IF your ignition barrel only has 2 terminals, then you can't use the pink/grey. If it has 4, the extra 2 must bridge when the ignition key is in the off position, and they must break when the key is in the on position. If that's the case then you can use the pink and grey wires as well.

This is the last time I am posting about this, as I don't think I can offer any more help - it's now up to you to find the right wires to splice into now that you have all the information about how the alarm does its job.

Ok Neil, Thank you very much for your time to help me. I am very glad with it. Please you was talking about brown cable and it was his place good.

Just now and i take out the alarm to home and check where the pink cable come from. And I found that, when the alarm is off then pink line go to grounding and if alarm when to start the engine then pink will separate form grounding.

So I go back to the bike and the motor was down and my clutch was broke, the indicator light also and some scratch.

in my ignition, there is a 4 or 5 cables comes out. Thanks

This cause happen in Belgium/ Antwerp

Neil, Can you send me your phone number to call you? [email protected]

because I dont understand something. The alarm is working perfect, if someone touch the motor, its make noise but the only thing is not working is to start with the remote. I have connected grey cable to ground and now left pink Sad Sad
