I've managed to crack my engine mount Sick

Does this means it will never be able to get through the MOT? Or would it be able to be welded?

Thanks for any help, Louis.

New casing's probably the safest bet.

I would have thought the alloy would be a pig to weld, and it may well crack again quite quickly because of the vibration.

That picture makes it look a LOT bigger than it is, in reality it's a maximum of 35mm across I'd imagine.

That's a tiny part to weld and as said earlier I'd guess it'd probably just crack from the vibrations soon enough. If you can find someone who is confident enough to weld it then go for it.

There happens to be a ton of ZXR400 frames on eBay and breakers if you do decide to replace so not a shortage and they go for okay prices with documents too (~£200).

I would hazard that it is this part of a Kawasaki frame: Wink.

I repaired one of these last year on a mates race bike, broken in exactly the same place. It's a simple repair for a Tig welder and 4043 Ali rods but you'd have to take the bare frame to wherever you get it done. The one i did took about an hour including prep and cleaning up the holes afterwards so expect to pay somewhere around £30.
