hi guys,
i passed my test a few days ago and thought id try the pillion lark out this morning, i found that when i was changing gear the front wheel would bounce. is this normal...

Wheelying with a pillion is, erm, interesting.... strange sensation with the extra weight tipping you back very quickly. I've been a pillion whilst wheelying and pulled wheelies with pillions on the back and I don't like either of them. Shocked

I'm a bit on the grande size, rode pillion on my brother's CB250 and that had the same effect (he weighed about 9st I weighed about 16) - it was quite unnerving. Small bikes and fat pillions doesn't work Thumbs Up .

I'm 6ft 3 and 18 stone.My bike's currently SORN'ed and my mate offered to take me to the MAG protest thing last weekend on the back of his TRX850,he's about 13 stone and 5ft 8ish.I refused point blank to get on the back and I think he was frankly relieved when I did Very Happy

Adding some preload and correct tyre pressures will help abit. The rest is in the wrist and clutch.
Quick and smooth gear changes.
Next time, take your pillion into an empty carpark and do some work. Bet within half n hour you improve.
