I'm in the market for a new helmet. I have about £150 to spend and my preference is a matt black helmet with no decals or graphics. Got my eye on a Shark S700 in matt black, what do you guys think to these helmets? Also can anyone suggest any other decent alternatives?

Peace

Duchinni are cheap, nice, but dont fit my head.. Crying or Very sad They had exactly what you described, matt black, <£90... try some on and see how they fit.

a £50 lid that fits properly is better than a £150 that doesn't

Is that because your head is too big or small? Shocked

Reading the thread title before even opening the thread I was going to mention the Shark S900. It's quite a popular helmet so there are a lot of reviews on them, with very few (if any) bad reviews. I don't think you will get much more helmet for your money, but I'd love for someone to prove me wrong.

This. Buy the one that fits your head, helmets are for protection - not fashion statements. Idea

Some helmets fit different shaped heads.

For example, though I like them a lot, no Shark lid will fit me. Try some on Thumbs Up

What's the fascination with matt black? You can't see the things coming Razz

What everyone else has said. Brand means nowt if it doesn't fit. You've given yourself a budget, just try some on Smile And when you find one that fits, don't forget to ask for one that hasn't been on the shop floor (i.e. has possibly been tried on by x amount of people and has already been squished down inside).

Just not a fan of all the decals is all, I think such helmets should be kept at the track.

I suppose the chances the helmet has been dropped too are quite high. Definately something to look out for.

Naaa, he needs to fit his hair in there Laughing

I have an S900 and really rate it although it sometimes whistles when I turn my head doing slightly more than motorway speeds. Doing a google image search for matte black motorbike helmet shows that pretty much every major manufacturer does one, its just a case now of making a list of brands and models to try then go to a shop and try them all on.

I have a Shark and Arai sized noggin but Shoei ones don't fit at all. Put the helmet on and press on the back of your head, there shouldn't be too much of a gap between your forehead and the padding at the front Thumbs Up
