Right so next year the misses and I will be going on a trip to Spain/Andorra/France next year. Hopefully taking in a bit of MOnaco / Italy but might be pushing it a bit!
Anyway before we go will be needing to buy a few things for the trip, Have already got lots of stuff as have been touring before (Link:https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=177698) But following that trip some stuff needs replacing e.t.c
The bike i'll be going on has hard panniers which make carrying stuff a bit easier but will need some soft panniers for the better half's bike.
Had oxford cheap panniers when we went before but these got ripped and destroyed on the 100's trip so am considering getting some of the Cargo Endurance Panniers, Are they worth paying the extra for however or should i just get another set of the Oxford ones? Any other ones worth considering?
Also my bikes got a Plastic fuel tank so can't use either of the tank bags i already have. What are my options? Are there any tank bags that just strap around or am i going to have to go for one of the leather tank covers and then a clip on tank bag?
For those that have been touring... Are the blow up beds worth bothering with or are they not much better roll mats?
For anyone that's been touring recently - Anyone got a list of everything they took with them? |

Did a fairly long tour this year ending up buying 3 air beds.
One just went down in the middle of night whilst camped near Carmathen, got no sleep that night. Obviously had a puncture but
couldn't find it so threw it away. Then had to pay £18 for another one at a shop in St. Davids.
The new one then literally blew up (may have over done the air) a few nights later whilst in the New Forest, again in the middle of the night, meaning no sleep.
Bought another one which did get through the rest of trip but not taking it next year, have to carry a foot pump as well (no sockets on bike) so both take up a lot of space. Also blow up pillow sprung a leak so stay away from air stuff ____________________ Current Bike: 2004 Suzuki Bandit 600S
