PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't use all caps. It's a pain in the eyes and most people won't bother to read it.

Yes if it's got standard exhaust it will usually be quieter than cheap tarty 'performance' exhausts - especially on a 50cc ped.

As for making it "silent" - well unless you want to sell this and get your gf an electric scooter (or pushbike, perhaps)... Good luck. You say you are into cars but you don't know that an internal combustion engine makes a noise? That'll be the petrol inside it exploding, by the way.

Good luck with fixing it up but please... have a think about what you're posting before you do it, AND DON'T FECKING USE ALL CAPS FFS.

I had a smurf shouting that all in my head as i was reading it Confused

4 Stroke 125's are quieter than a 50 ped. Oh and looking in the mirror at the tracky-legged/adidas-footed 'ard nut race king fade away as you go over 30 with decent acceleration is always a bonus! Laughing

P.S, Welcome to BCF, i can tell your gonna be loved Wub

Err... I'd rather keep my cloths on if you dont mind......

Turn off the caps.... and as others; engines make noise. Chitty little chainsaw engines stuffed under injection moulded plastic kids ride on toy, disproportionally more than their displacement suggests, AND at an annoying mancinian girl on the tonk, kind of 'pitch'.. sports exhausts and performance filters do little but increase the volume of the bee in a bean-tin din in your ears....

Can you buy anything to make them quieter?

Lots of things; a pound of sugar placed in the petrol tank would do a pretty good job..... more reliable than a potatoe pushed up the tail pipe, but a little sticker.....

BUT would probably just 'shift' the problem, and instesad of your girlfreind having to put up with the strimmer motor noise, you'd have to put up with her nagging about that heap of shit you bought her, from the the passenger seat as you drive her to work in your car.......

Better off getting her a 125cc four stroke as it will be quieter and much less annoying due to the lower pitch.

If you post in all caps again, no-one will reply.

Why do you want to make it quieter anyway? Explosions are loud, lots of small explosions in a small metal chamber are even louder.

50cc ped, sounds like a lawnmower, smells like a lawnmower, goes like a lawnmower, but can't cut grass, get a 125.

First response: It's already made you deaf, so why bother?

Second response: Good chance that the previous owner has stuck a "sports" exhaust on to it. Remove it, sell it and replace with the standard pipe and you'll probably find it's a lot quieter than it is currently.

Can't you get 2t AND 4t versions? I'm fairly certain I haven't just made that up...

If so, the 4t version should be quiet as fuck. As EVERYONE has said, get a 125. 50s are dangerous and embarrassing and I've found they're actually worse on fuel due to being screwed EVERYWHERE to move.

My Lawn mower takes exception to this comment!
It is a 75cc 3.5Hp Honda Four Stroke!
It says you must have it confused with the strimmer.....
