I just bought a pair of Large (biggest size) pair of Alpinestars
Storm Rider Goretex Gloves in readiness for the winter. The gloves are very nice and well made but they're a tad tight. Yes, I understand that they will give a little and mould themselves around my hand over the next couple of weeks but is there any way of speeding up this process??

Are there any leather conditioners or similar products available that will help? Or, does the immersion into a bucket of warm water still the best method?

A weeks worth of normal riding is all it took to bed mine in. Felt like they were cutting off the circulation in some of my fingers prior to that.

Yeah, they're pretty tight but even worse is their stiffness. As I said, they're great quality gloves and I am sure there are precious few available offering better protection to both the elements and abrasion, so I suppose their rigidity can only be expected but hopefully they will soften up. Sooner the better!

I find alpinestar are short in the thumbs, Rstar fit me better with the thumbs. I wouldn't buy gloves that were tight for winter as it is te warm air around the hand that needs to stay warm.

I can't find a single retailer that sells them larger than Large. Maybe they have been discontinued?

Sizes are all to cock nowadays - I think its because everything is made in oriental sizes - and oriental 'large' hand is smaller than a caucasian 'large'...
