A bunch of us are taking the kids paintballing in Wakefield on Saturday - haven't been for 20 years. Any top paintballing tips?

Depending on how much money you have, go slightly sparingly on your ammo..

Some of the people I went with last time jus sprayed absaloutely everything in sight - trees, the lot. In hope of hitting someone. LOL.

Then they ran around like tards because they were out of ammo.

I was fairly sparingly on ammo / shots and had quite a bit to use up in the last game. It was a game where someone has to sit on a seat in the middle of an area without a paintball gun, I can still remember just holding constant fire on a bloke on the other team. Laughing

Don't shoot the 'marshalls' which I did a fair few times.

If you wear glasses, your fucked. I could'nt see shit for 80% of it the goggles and everything just steams up haha.

Don't wear shorts Thumbs Up

It hurts if 3 hit you in the same place, but otherwise it is bearable unless you get shot somewhere like a knuckle or your neck Laughing

Good luck Thumbs Up

Cheers mate!

I like the idea of the kids in just T shirts - should slow the little buggers down and give us old men a chance... Looking at the blurb I was sent though we all have to dress in ninja-suits...

A) Doing this will anger the person being shot.

B) If you're being shot, put your hand up. They make it clear you have to put your hand up to show you're out, or you get shot more.

C) Before being wiped off by a marshal and going back in; check that the person standing in your base isn't a heroic member of the other term that has just out-flanked the rest of your team that were still 'in'.

It was a good day Very Happy.

Definitely be aware of how much ammo you've got to last you the day.
The basically give away the day's paintballing so you have to buy lots of ammo from them.

Go airsofting Wink

Seriously, top tip: - If anyone on the other team seriously starts to piss you off by not taking their hits (marshalls are usually oblivious), aiming between their legs usually elicits a satifyingly high pitched scream Laughing!

Recently had some tw@t do that to me about 2 months ago at my local airsoft site (Ace Combat if you know it) for most of the day. In the final game I ended up in a great ambush position overlooking a path with a couple other guys, and this bloke was one of the group about to be ambushed. Cue a full auto 2 sec burst of 0.20g BB's thunking their way into his gentlemans parts at 340fps (rof is approx 720rpm), followed by said yell and him collapsing to a fetal position.

I don't think he's come back since... Thumbs Up

Wear extra layers so the paintballs don't break.
If you can get away with rubbing the paint off and carrying on then do so.
Show your face up and down so the noons shooting you waste balls. They usually can't afford to buy more towards the end.
Buy in bulk and ask them to price match a cheap company before you go. I often get entrance and 1000 balls for 55 quid, even at Delta Force.
Always find shelter and communicate, I play quite a bit and with a good team that rushes together, you will always win.
Sometimes going solo if it's Packed with bushes is good to sneak up on people.
Use whatever you can, if you see something you can pick up as a shield, then do so.
Always seal up your balls proper, worse thing is dropping them on te floor.

So that's how people who are geeky airsofters get their stories in when the subject is paintballing.

Boo hoo.

^^^^ This is why I gave up paintball and moved to airsoft. What's the point of everybody paying £40+ for a day if even 'veteran' paintballers recommend cheating Rolling Eyes ? What's geeky about wanting to play a game not dominated by bullet-proof COD heroes?

Besides, several airsoft sites do rentals for about £35 (including gun hire, camo and more than enough ammo) so joking aside it was a (semi) serious post.

I’ve been paintballing now about five times. My one and only tip is that if you get a bead on someone and you tag them with a shot. Don’t stop firing until they scream for you to stop and run.
Too many times in my early games did I let people get away with a couple of shots, only for them to wipe it off and carry on. Unload as many as you can, aim for the head and hands and win the game.

I played a game in Wales once against some young lads who just wanted to play dirty and not go out. Our team had a discussion and we chipped in for huge bags of paintballs. No mercy.
At one point I was disqualified because the one kid, who wore a purple scarf, took around 15 rounds to the back of the head in a hut.
Gauge who you’re up against, not everyone deserves that kind of treatment but sometimes you’ll find yourself being mugged off by a group and you don’t want that.

Been quite a few times now with my mates and the best advice i can give is stay in groups of about 4 and work your way up the playing area always covering each other etc.

Last time i went tho we had a dress code of just flowery shorts and topless for the banter. must say it was the best time i had been as there was so much fear when running out in the open. if anyone knows delta force in bristol with the game speedball, bricks were shat Laughing
