Your option? Pay the fine/go to court and stop riding like a dick

Not many options really, take it and be a bit more careful, car headlights don't make you do 45 in a 30.
Hire an expensive solicitor to plead on your behalf and still get done for 45 in a 30.
If you get chance to do it by letter, do it. If you have to go to court (likely doing 45 in a 30) then be as contrite and sorry as you can be, quote the headlights as mitigating circumstances and say you'll never ever do it again having learned from this experience.
one way or another it's 99% certain you will get done for it.

your option should the letter be sent within the prescribed time is to pay a bribe and take 3 points, or go to court, get 3 points and pay a wee bit more, however with the satisfaction it cost more to collect than they earned.

Your only option is to pay for some advanced training as if you are a motorcyclist you need to pay attention to what is ahead of you which you clearly aren't doing as you failed to spot a massive yellow box on top of a big grey pillar!

Also, the reason for you going faster was because you "couldn't see anything", now, to me, when I can't see a lot due to glare/misted visor/anything I tend to slow down to give me more time to react to anything I may have missed, or maybe that is just me. Confused.

Also, you should know how fast you are going the vast majority of your time, check your speedo every now and again, it's there to be used.

Pay the fine, take the points and hope they remind you to ride better in the future instead of trying to weasel out of it.

Usually when I can't see I roll off the throttle, I don't go faster when blind and 1 hand on the handlebars. Dunno how getting blinded by headlights would cause you to go 40/45 in a 30. Rolling Eyes Bit silly in my opinion.

You made a mistake and hopefully you won't make it again. You just have to be extra careful now because 1 more incident like this and it's goodbye license.

You couldn't see... So you went FASTER?

Pay the ticket and practice some throttle control.

to echo the posts above, why in the feck did you apply more throttle when you were blinded, piss poor excuse chap, im not against a bit of speed but NOT in a built up area like that.
to answer your question you have one option, take the 3 points and fine like a man Thumbs Up

This should hopefully be a wake up call that you're either in control of the situation, or riding your luck.

Aaaanway, everything that you need to know is at Pepipoo.

Oh so because you couldnt see, you increased your speed while riding one handed as you attempted to lift your visor?

Being a little village, you should be going 30 anyways. Theres a school, a youth club, several pubs and three or four takeaways where kids hang out just on the main road stretch of teynham.

Presumably you were going towards Medway? Thanet in general is very easygoing on speed cameras, only a few around, but Medway, particularly on main commuting routes to London has lots.

I know that camera well Laughing

Suck it up, realise that you shouldn't have been speeding anyway, you are aware they are HUGE AND YELLOW?

You should have a quick look on the AA routeplanner, shows you where most cameras are anyway, so if its a road you haven't taken before you can always pre-empt a camera.

Oh dear. Thumbs Down

Unlucky

I wish they'd put the speed limit actually on the camera position - there is one on the Eastern road in Portsmouth that is in a 40 zone, but loads of people slow to 30?

Let's hope you were doing nearer 40 which may be an actual late 30's in which case it should be a pay fine by return jobbie.

Don't get too hacked off by it - SP30 shouldn't impact insurance in itself.

That same camera got me back in my 125 days. Despite being annoyed that it got me, the picture they sent me was impressive, tucked behind the screen, arse in the air, I looked like I was proper ragging it Cool

Odd - hasn't impacted any of my current policies - insurance companies though, just making it all up as they go along.

First off, was it a double flash?
Not all cameras have film in them even when the flash is on.
If they do have film, it may have already run out.
Definitely don't try and use being blinded by another vehicle as an excuse - if the system was in anyway efficient (luckily it's not), they'd do you for without due care too.
