In order to avoid getting angry at the various idiots I encounter on the road I've started giving them silly names so I can just laugh at them instead of getting angry. Anyone care to add to my list?

Suicidal Cid - cyclist

Suicide squad - lots of Cids

Trainee caddaver - wheelieing 16y/o mopedder

Mr Dimwitty - cager who can't make up his mind which bit of the road he wants to be in, then finally decides it has to be the bit I'm occupying

Knob end - me when I do something stupid

The other day, I was riding along a dual carriage way 40mph limit. Pelican crossing but its on green for me. Its outside a big supermarket, and people are clearly in the habit of flowing over and expecting traffic to slow to let them cross. I have right of way, so I'm not impressed. I maintain my speed, and sound my horn. I felt a bit like a bowling ball going through some skittles. I know defensive riding would mean slowing down for the naughty people, but I don't approve of them ignoring the rules of the road.

Thanks Colin1, I hadn't worked out a name for suicidal pedestrians - skittles, perfect!

Bit of a cheesy thread tbh.

When im in the cage, I'm pretty chilled out. No amount of name calling is going to sort the less focused pedestrians, cyclists, drivers etc. So just gotta give them a bit of space.

If im in the car with a mate, I usually just say something like "Look at this idiot", if somebody cuts me up or a cyclist veers out into the road.

I've not got to the insanity stage of delegating names for each and every other person on the road though. Confused

I usually just drop a gear and dump the clutch hard while giving it the gas if a pedestrian tries to weave infront of me. That's when I'm in the car.

Can't be arsed having my blood pressure raised getting angry at morons.

I earn a living driving a delivery van around Lincolnshire and over these last 13 years I've seen just about every example of lunacy you can get on our roads. Again, like bwfc4eva86 (btw, that must be the strangest user name i've seen on an internet forum although my old quakeworld buddy "goatblower" comes close) , I used to get angry and cross with the "lunatics" until the day I realised I was one of them too!
These days, as a relaxed 35 year old I just take it all in my stride and take pride my ability to "see it coming" and drive safely.

The usual profanities and curses but mostly its just a coping mechanism no actual harm intended people make mistakes, tonight was a bit of an exception friggin appleby horsefair means loads of the 'travelers' have gone to Durham for a night on the piss and whatever else they do, apparently they don't understand the concept of pedestrian crossings, though I did remember seeing colin1's post about skittles which helped me laugh it off thinking of them as ovetanned bowling pins and me on a 200+KG bowling ball Twisted Evil

It appears that revving the engine shits pedestrians up more than the horn!

When I was in London last week, a bloke riding a SV1000 (with open pipes...sweet isn't the word) had a group of pedestrians step out on him, on his green light. Sounded the horn with no results whatsoever; pulled the clutch in and revved it...that soon made them move Wink ahaha

As for calling other idiot's names, I tend to just call them the first word/s that enter my head and sometimes, the middle finger can suffice just enough...as actions speak louder than words Wink ahaha

I love it when you get them cagers who are always angry about every action a biker does. I counter this with being jolly to the point of it being terrifying, and it's hilarious.

Chappy today decided to park his car over the white big keep clear road sign i needed to turn into. He saw I wanted to get down the road, so he decides to glare at me. (Maybe a bike ate his homework or something?) His window was open so I went "Uh oh! Naughty naughty, ya little rascal" with a little finger waggle, and my hand on the hip, then rode off cackling like a madman (The dude was like 40y/o) ... Made the guy in the car behind him chuckle Very Happy

I often stand up on my footpegs and salute them as I go past, makes me laugh and that's all I care about.

I agree that it's better to laugh than to rant. Living well (or at all) is the best revenge.
