I was changing the gear lever bearings in my rearset today wen i dropped one of the bolts, it landed on the inside of my fairing. To get a better view i flashed my torch in there which is when i saw this (J18-15) written on the back of my engine. I'm curious what it could be if anyone as any idea, my bike is a c1h zx6r by the way.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I've got paperwork from early on in the bikes life with the same engine numbers and the bike had less than 5k on when I bought it, surely wouldn't of had an engine swapped so early on. Suppose it'll have to remain a mystery.

Could be something from the factory, or could have been removed at some point and written on by the garage.

Most likely answer is still the breakers though.

I,ve come across a few kawasaki,s that have pen/paint numbers and letters on engine parts including inside the engine they appear to be from the factory to ID parts. All on oringal untouched engines.

My ZZR250 engine has pen (green, to be precise) letters and numbers written on it.

I was about to post a very similar thread until I just read this one!

Thumbs Up Karma
