Passed the Mod 1 today, no faults, exactly 50 on both speed manoeuvres. Pretty chuffed with that.

School had a Mod 2 slot this Wednesday morning so I went for it. Not going to bother with any training, instructor today said he reckons I'll be fine so just going out there to do it.

Tell you what though, a few weeks back I was reading lots of posts in this forum about doing the Mod 1 in the pissing rain and feeling a bit sympathetic towards you all, but let me tell you that doing it in the sweltering heat is no picnic either. Especially when the examiner has the sun right behind him, but even without that I felt sticky, soaking with sweat and found it difficult to concentrate.

Was very glad my helmet had an inbuilt sunshade thing.

My mod 1 was on a lovely day for biking. Nice temperature, not too windy, quite bright, (mostly) dry roads - couldn't have asked for a better day! Very Happy
The mod 2 however... I tell you, coming back from that I was baking, literally baking; my face was soaked, clothes were damp too! Laughing

Good luck with your Mod 2, you should be fine - I passed both of my Mods with no lessons too. Read my Mod2 thread if you're after any tips because that helped (and reassured) me greatly. But most of all - remember your observations, keep a safe distance from parked cars and moving ones, check mirrors ever 20-30 seconds ish, mirror before indicating, remember life savers, wait at the turning point for traffic lights, etc. Hope it goes well for you Thumbs Up

Cheers guys. I do feel pretty good.

It was a lovely feeling when he said I'd passed, but then again I already knew I'd done a decent test so I would've been extremely put out if he'd said anything else Smile
