Hi guys,

Haven't posted here in a while.

I'm planning a trip to America, and found that there is a new ultrabook being released there, and was wondering if I were to purchase it, would I be able to bring it back on the plane, and not pay duty?

I remember there being quite a few gadget junkies on here, so you may have similar experiences.

If you could shed any light on the matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thumbs Up

Get a laptop bag for it or bring one with you to put it in on the return trip just dont carry any packaging on you incase you get stopped by customs.

The idea is to make it look like you went out there with it and did,nt buy it out there.

Done it loads of time, just post the warranty/cds/manuals etc. Home to yourself. If you're extra paranoid, take a dvd of a selection of data over (like your email contacts and data, your favourites for the browser, a pile of documents/videos/mp3s) and pop it on the new one, just to make it look like it's been in use for a while. If it doesn't have a DVD drive, pop it somewhere like www.dropbox.com and just download it whilst you're out there.

The other common one is to bring some stickers and cover the bastard in them.
