Now I don't know about you, but when I'm in my car I don't look in the rear view mirror, see a Hayabusa & automatically think, "Ah, an ashtray! Just in time, my cigarette's finished, now I can throw it out the window & into that Busa shaped ashtray behind me."
Not once not twice but THREE fuckin' times this morning on the way to Heathrow. I'd like to meet these twats in a pub, flick a fag at their clothes & see what they have to say about it happening to them.

Maybe they had met one of your on-line persona's and recognised a picture of your bike... didn't you listen to Clanger's warnings?

The number of wankers that seem to be aiming for that NSR shaped ashtray behind them is unbelievable. Needless to say, i've been getting so p'ed off at times that i've often gone and done things conducive to road rage attacks Laughing .

Wotcha.

When waiting in traffic, I'm in the habit of picking up items discarded from car windows and throwing it back in, with a cheery
" Excuse me - I think you've just dropped this "
It's amazing what a lit cigarette does for getting the drivers attention Mr. Green

It's something I'm always wary of driving.

I usually drive with the window open as an ashtray to the world.

But I'm very aware of bikes around me, and would never consider flicking fag ash out if a bike is behind me, much less the whole butt.

I think this is more the ignorance generally shown by non-bikers than anything else.

Cheers,

Byrnie.

Same here, when I notice a bike behind me I'll keep the fag as long as possible or flick it at the road.

I've been the unfortunate recipient of a couple of fag burns due to stupid drivers (although should have had visor down).

question:

when throwing a fag back at a driver, is it best to aim for the crotch hoping to cause extreme pain, or to aim for the face hopeing to insult.

obviously the crocth is better if they have thin trouser on and the fag is still alight, but do you take the time to examine it, or just hurl for the face?

Luckily I've been able to avoid playing a 'human ashtray' thus far. Maybe it's the extreme temperatures keeping people's windows up, maybe it's 'cause I've not been riding long enough. Either way I hope the trend continues!

Sorry to hear about your troubles, fellas. Maybe if you put fly paper on your windscreen it'll catch some of those smoldering projectiles? Thumbs Up

If someone flicked a fag end at me when I used to ride my push bike round London I would tend to give them a quick squirt in the face with my water bottle through the open window:D

To top off my week this morning I had a plum in a 4wd never been off road pile of shite driven by some pikey who could hardly stay in his lane, the reason for his erratic driving? have a guess, go on.

yep the wanker was having a wee chat...........on a mobile phone, whilst smoking a fag at the same time, result....no hands on the steering wheel. Rolling Eyes At the next set of lights I pulled alongside him, whipped in the clutch & gave him a burst of 1300cc on the rev limiter for a few seconds. It's very difficult to talk when there's about 110+Db row going on right next to you innit Twisted Evil

Answer: The best place to aim is the passenger footwell. It causes major panic and as he frantically bends down to retrieve his fag end, you zoom off and there is no way he can see your registration plate.

This happened to me, whilst filtering, the fag was flicked and ended up on my crotch. I picked it up, he looked at me and smiled and I said you've dropped something and threw it back, where it landed in the passenger seat well. His smile turned to a look of horror. I doubt if he will do it again

I'm pretty sure that a carelessly thrown object from a car will cause me to lose control of the bike and require action involving (possible removal of) said car's wing mirror to regain my balance. Use of the feet against the driver's door (for balance purposes, obviously) can't be ruled out either...

absolutely!

I have found in such circumstances that a well placed Ti bolted slider is perfect for regaining balance, with the assistance of a car door Twisted Evil
