I took my little XTC out for a spin todayand in the sun it was nice. Neutral .
I went from Ipswich-to-Diss-to-Bury St Edmunds-to-Stowemarket-to-Needam market-to-Ipswich.
The bike performed without a single hicup and all was well.
I used the B-roads, rather than the A-roads to make it more interesting and to see bits of the county I`ve missed before.

I had a great afternoon and cant grumble to much,BUT I just wish there were a few more mountain roads near my neck of the woods Sad .
You lot in the West & North certainly have the more interesting rides-out, you`re so lucky.

To be fair, you're probably lucky to live somewhere relatively flat, you'd never get an XTC up a mountain pass without having to hop off and push.

Think I'll take a trip back here tomorrow afternoon...

https://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t321/Furyous84/gh.jpg?t=1317837357

Very Happy

The very close proximity to miles and miles of this kind of landscape is probably the best reason to resist any temptation to move South on the promise of more lucrative professional opportunities.

Having lived in Oxford for two years back in 02/03, I became extremely bored by the relentlessly flat landscape all around. As 'pretty' as some areas are, it's just not an interesting environment. And I didn't ride at the time, so that's not even a motorcycling perspective.

But don't move North. It's terribly grim, and better less populated Razz

Which is?

Edit:
I thought the Corrieyairack Pass has been closed hence me wondering what you think the highest is.

From this list, the highest public road you can now go up is Grasshills Causeway at 674m

Edit edit:

Nice photos!

I tend to take a road trip up to Scotland every year, and have been pretty much everywhere (including the Outer Hebrides). I've got to say that the mainland around and North West of Ullapool is a clear for me winner when it comes to spectacular scenery and roads. As good as photos are, it's far more inspiring still in person. A must see for anyone lucky enough to live in the UK and have it so close at hand.

I'd move there in a heartbeat, but I strongly suspect I'm in the wrong profession!

Scotchland is a lovely country, the only problem is that it's full of Scots.

Summer its great, i have lived here about 6 years now, pretty lucky to be able to work from home as there is not that much work here, very seasonal. It goes from busy then come end of season the pubs are dead and winters can be pretty long. The scenery is stunning, even going out in a dry winters day up north or even down south i can sit and ponder for hours.

Well the temp has really dropped up here and feels like its going to be a long winter now. Snow on the hills and a bitter wind, for anyone heading north wrap up fecking warm.

It aint all bad whizzing around on that little Sachs!
When I went to Lowestoft the tank was full to the brim.
Today I went to the Bike garage near me (Washbrook Motorcycles) to see about getting a new rear tyre and top up with fuel.
I spent a total of £6.88 on fuel Thumbs Up Smile

So Ipswich-to-Lowestoft-to-Ipswich for the princely sum of just under £7 Very Happy .
Yes I could of got there quicker on the ZX6r and still had smiles, but I`m well pleased with the little Sachs at that price Thumbs Up
