These thingys :

I was wondering if they cause a lot of condensation and stuff. For them that cant fit a garage into the garden, I wonder if its a better compromise than a normal rain cover. Theres a few different types now varying from £60-£150.

I've got the Dri-Top cover.

So much better than an ordinary cover, you do get condensation inside but as the cover is not in contact with the bike you just get the odd drip. I would recommend getting one.

Thumbs Up

I'm using a cheapo gazebo from Argos (about £13) at the moment. Its a lot less hassle than putting a cover on & off every day (I have an Oxford Rainex that I used previously). I stuck each leg in a bucket & filled them with gravel to weigh it down and its survived the recent high winds and kept me dry when working on it as well. If you have enough room, it might be an option!

I don't know about bike tents, but I do know that I get a trouser tent whenever I look at some of the quality blart posted in the 'last post wins' thread.

Tray of cheapo table salt in the bottom (Cost a £1.00 or so) and that should solve the condo problem.

The Argos Gazebo thing at £13.00 is the best. Does it have sides though?

I have one, no shed or garage and I have tried a bike cover.

The bike cover was shit, it wasn't a good make, but would blow off over night.

I brought one off of ebay for about £75. It fits my thunderace in with plenty of room. I also have two seats, 5l of oil (important for the 'ace) a renntec rack and a hugger tucked into the back of it.

I dont have any trouble with condensation as I have opened up the air vents permanently.

It ideally wants to be fixed to the ground, but I just made use of some off cuts from bandq

No, but you can buy the side things as an extra. I've not bothered, as long as the bike stays dry, its doing its job, and in my case the thing is sited between 2 outhouses and against the side of the house, so its pretty well sheltered from the horizontal rain we had over the last few days!

The gazebo on that RobertDyas site looks exactly the same as the argos one, with the side panels included, looks like a good price.

I have this one...

https://www.feelgooduk.net/39-motorbike-motorcycle-cover-bike-home-shelter-garage.html

Its bolted down to a 10x4 row of slabs outside.

It serves its purpose pretty well. Bear in mind I live in Scotland in a high village east of Glasgow (snow in July is not un common).

Haven't had an issue with condensation, although im normally good at opening the vents until she is cool.

1. It blows about in the wind a little. This is allowing the bottom of the tent to rub the slabs under the bottom poles and is slowly wearing the fabric away.

2. The security points arent the strongest.

3. The velcro on the windows is shit. Replace with the £1 roll from tesco and job done.

Id recommend it. Try ebay first as I got mine delivered for £70.

So 'technically' you could now tell your Insurance your bike is Garaged then? Laughing

I mean, it meets the definition and you don't have to say it's made of Polyester Wink
