Evening All

I'm after a new textile jacket for the winter as my short style FT one can get a bit draughty and isn't great when it's chucking it down.

Criteria is long style jacket which is waterproof for under a ton.

Here's a couple I've been looking at anyone got either or any ideas.

RST Alpha

Cheers

I get promo emails from m&p had one recently with the Oxford Bonedry jacket on sale at about £40 I think - not sure on spec or anything but worth a look on the site for that price (deleted the email after I read it)

forgot to add I have the RST Base had it a long while now suspect its been replaced by that Alpha you linked to as looks identical.
Its extremley warm as had no removable liner so cracking for the really cold weather - seems to be waterproof too. I got it half price in a sale (around £30) well worth the cash. As is most RsT stuff.

Don't buy this jacket. It leaks worse than a Blue Waffle fanny.

Also, Akito jackets are awesome.

Keep your existing jacket and just wear a cheap plastic jacket over it. Keeps the wind out and is totally waterproof.

I've had Akito textiles in the past, and currently have an RST textile jacket - and I'd gladly recommend both.

However, for prolonged rides in heavy rain I have a waterproof over-suit that I bought from Go Outdoors

Thanks for the replies everyone. I quite like the look of the Akito jacket so might have to have a look at one.

I also found this on eBay which looks like it could be a bargain

I popped down to the local bike shop yesterday to have a look at jackets and got myself the RST Raptor in the sand colour ;

https://www.rst-moto.com/index.php/products-details/moto_rst_3_4_waterproof_raptor_textile_jacket/

I paid £115 for it so went a little over budget but it seems like a pretty well made jacket, very comfortable and a much better fit for me than my current jacket, it also has a decent back protector in it.

Hopefully it will stand up to the weather ok, it has a built in face mask which is a nice touch, I'll probably pop a review up after a few weeks of use.

Cheers

Looks decent, I was going to suggest that you go for something with a removable liner, rather than the cheaper RST Alpha aove with a fixed one.

I like the face mask idea - my RST Enduro has a neck flap, but it's not quite tall enough to obviate the need for separate neck covering. I'd be interested to hear how the Raptor works out in practice.
