Try not to get over confident and you'll stay safe. During my first few weeks I drew up a few round trips of about an hour covering different routes and did them as practice rides. Covering many different riding scenarios will improve your skills no end, if you just stick to the same route you'll just memorise the hazards rather than read the road.

Fun isn't it Very Happy

When filtering I treat each car I'm about to pass as a separate individual overtake, that way I consider all the risks and don't get complacent and over confident.

I'm glad you're getting confident, but I do fear you're in danger of becoming invincible Wink

Be careful, especially whilst filtering; cagers don't tend to look for you because they're stuck in traffic, it's impossible for them to get overtaken! Rolling Eyes
I had an instance once where a young lady decided to perform a U-Turn in the road (around abouts here somewhere) without checking behind her. (Traffic was backed up from before the roundabout all the way to the A5 roundabout).

Thankfully I was going slowly enough to do an emergency stop in time, but oh boy does it make you realise just how careful you've got to be Thumbs Up

I had a moron swing his drivers side door wide open while I was filtering, luckily he closed it pretty quick of I'd have been off.

Don't get too complacent tho and take the attitude of every car that pulls up to a junction is going to pull straight out. And that every other road user is out to knock you off.

Also don't do what i did and think that after 7 years trying to do a U turn at a far to high speed is a good idea. I ended up with bike on top of me Embarassed
