Took me only 2 months after passing my Mod2! Please find some pics for the occasion below.

I was riding home last night in the rain close to midnight. I'm almost home (~100m), and approaching a junction at roughly 30mph. I brake too hard and too suddenly (still in a straight line, several m from the junction). The front wheel immediately locks and the bike starts toppling, and before I can even react, the bike has leaned over way too much. There is a short moment of panic when I desperately try to do something, anything, help dammit, come on!, and I hit the ground, tumble a bit, get on my back, and slide a few meters to a halt. Meanwhile, the engine spins down and dies. I I get to my feet but notice my left knee hurts, struggle a bit and pick up my bike. I tried to start it a few times but gave up. Luckily I was only 100m from my home, so I push my bike back.
I'm always very conscientious about being properly kitted every time I go out for a ride, but I wasn't wearing proper bike trousers last night (going out dancing, I wanted to look "nice"). At least I had my bike jacket on, which definitely saved me from requiring nice skin grafts! ATGATT. There's a reason for this saying. I had to learn it the "hard" way of course... Still, I consider myself very very lucky I had this experience at such low speed, having all my limbs intact, and causing no property damage to anyone else.
I had an X-ray today. AT least there weren't any broken bones, but the soft tissues are gonna take a few weeks to heal, and I'll have to limp around everywhere for now...
Oh, and I thought I was gonna die of old age stuck in traffic today, as I'd gotten so used to filtering haha Laughing

Aw, bad luck. I remember us drooling over that bike when you got it, I hope you get it all prettied up again soon.

There's no "but" at the end of that sentence, but I guess you know that now.

Indeed... Laughing

I could've sworn I barely touched the front brake!

At any rate, I'm very excited to get back on the bike ASAP! Wink

But sometimes I want to pull wheelies at 80mph wearing shorts and a vest, because I can?

But sometimes I'm just popping to the shops and don't want to wear gear?

But sometimes I'm going drinking on a whim and haven't had time to organise bus or whatever, so I just stick a lid on and ditch the bike at a mates house without worrying about getting changed.
