l always wanted my own Jim'll Fix It medal when I was a kid, I wrote to him but convinced myself my parents never sent the letter which is why I wasn't picked..... Can't for the life of me remember what it was though!

Shame, he was a bit of a legend.

Ah bless him.
1926-2011 ... so, about 85, I guess?
Not a bad innings, though.

A few years back my mate's daughter paralysed herself from the neck down in a cycling accident and had to be repatriated to Stoke Mandeville hospital. My mate said he used to see JS pushing beds and trollies round, still helping out even at his advanced age. I still remember the Clunk Click adverts from when I was a kid.

God bless!

He was one of the pioneers of "Pop radio" and "Discoteques" , without him modern music would have been a whole lot more mundane.

Shame, I always liked him.
I only live a few miles down the road from the hospital at Stoke, he was quite well known in the area for his charity and volunteer work.
I might go and put on a tracksuit and smoke a cigar in his memory.

Best ever Jim'll fix it:

Bit of a dodgy bloke. Anyone remember the Louis Theroux show where he he explained that in his glasgow night club, he didnt throw trouble makers out, he would tie them to a chair in the basement until the end of the night, giving them the time to wonder what would happen to them.

He also said that he pretended not to like childern in order to "throw them off the scent". Is that the confession of a kiddy fiddler ?

The "throw them off the scent" comment was cut out of subsequent repeats.

Me too!

He was seriously creepy.
He never bloody fixed anything for me as a kid...and I never asked for Fixes for me, only for other people.
