er6 possible engine rust??

Hey,

I currently own an 08 er6f which I bought new in 2009, unfortunately I had a minor crash earlier this year meaning the bike has been stored for a little while, so I have chance to save for parts etc.

Recently I have noticed what looks like a rust bubble forming on the right hand side of the engine underneath the paint/coating, is this likely to cause me trouble in the future? Any way that I can sort it out before it spreads? Could it signify more serious engine damage? Is it even worth worrying about!?

The picture below shows what I'm talking about, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Most likely just ally corrosion where water and salt has got under the paint at the corner where there may be a slight lift or chip in the paint.

Personally, I'd leave it for now, unless the rest of the bike is pristine, in which case I'd carry out a local repair. Check the rest of the bike to see if this is the only "bubbling".

its rust in the only way that its oxidisation, but on alloy not steel/iron

me i would chip the paint off, sand back the effected area and re-paint, this should stop it spreading,
