I am buying a yamaha 100cc scooter, getting rid of the brand-new Lexmoto 50cc 2011 reg (in case anyone is interested) but, can I drive the 100cc on my car licence. I am 52 and passed my car test in 1977. Rang my local police and was told "providing I have a category A on my car licence, I can. can anyone confirm this?

Also, how much is a cbt and how do I arrange it; Cheers

Your car license will offer you a provisional bike license. If you have a provisional bike license all you need is your CBT to ride around on L-Plates. This can be any bike/Scooter up to 125cc. Of course you will need tax, MOT and insurance for it.

EDIT : CBT Costs between £90-£120 or more, depending. You have to go to a riding school to obtain one.
