Suzuki AY50 Katana issues... water in cylinder?!

Right, my friends purchased an AY50 katana, wouldnt start... thing is it was leaking water under preasure out the spark plug hole if the plug wasnt tight....

Advised him to strip top end and replace gaskets, he did this and he's STILL getting water. if he drains all the coolant... it'll run, but pressurises the water tank pretty high.

I'm thinking cracked barrel/head... you guys?

Im guessing its the liquid cooled ay50.

Sounds like a cracked head, broken head gasket, possibly cracked cylinder etc.

Did he change the head gasket?

yeah something along the top end is cracked, maybe a cracked head/barrel. not a difficult job, or unless when he rebuilt the top end he didnt fit the head gasket correctly some of them are 5 circles and the end pieces can get trapped easily, they look like this :
