If you ride your bike come sun, rain, snow, fog or hail. You dont moan about the cold, dont have heated grips, and you dont ride less than 6k miles a year Laughing

Genuine biker as opposed to the fake biker, or the deceitful biker.

In the online dating world, the deceitful man, is the man women try to avoid, as he pretends to love but actually just wants a poke, so the ladies want a 'genuine male'.

Whereas for males, the need for a genuine female is more the case of actually not being a fake female ie born a man.

I suspect that to be a biker, you need to fit the stereotype, which probably means I'm a motorcyclist, or just someone who rides a motorbike as they are cheap transport, and cheap fun.

The extreme sport that fits into your lifestyle, and can be done on your way to work with minimal effort. Can't beat a bit of filtering in traffic, or traffic light GP for a bit of cheap adrenalin.

Its going to be another one of these 'relative' terms. So in the real world, it means diddly-squat.

I assumed it be someone that dresses in the leathers and helmet and rides a big as opposed to dressing in the leathers and helmet and hoping on a bus when no-ones looking!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Genuine biker, Real biker, Proper biker.

Hmm.

I'll have a stab at someone who grew up into bikes, cant walk down the street without turning his head when a bike passes even if the wife is talking to him about something important Embarassed. Someone who see's a bloke walking around in leathers and cant help but ask what they ride. And have no interest in any other form of transport regardless of how impractical bikes can be.

Motorcyclist I would agree with Colin. Everyone that doesnt fit into the above.

IME it is someone spamming us under the pretence that they are a "genuine biker" and therefore are not spamming us.

I think it means deceitful spammer.

Genuine Biker I think refers to those who actually ride a bike on a regular basis, doesn't have to be out in all weathers, but at least needs to own one that gets used.

There are loads who got bikes for the image and when the WOW factor has gone or they realise that being a Biker although special is not unique and there are loads in all shapes and sizes.

Genuine Biker is a throw away term, but it is useful when you want to differentiate between the chav moped/scooter riders and those who ride motorbikes.

I recently found out that I've been pushing the bike along with a sort of paddling motion of my legs and turning the key in my bike doesn't actually do anything.

If you are in a similar position (you can find out by checking your shoes to see if they are really worn-out and scuffed), then you are probably not a genuine biker.

I'm a bit disappointed because I've spent a lot of money on this motorbike bike thing.

I think it's just a fluff statement to pad out a sentence. Like the term 'real man'. Doesn't mean crap in the real world.

Someone that does biking for exactly the same reasons as me, who does the same biking things as me, who wears the same kit as me. The others are surely just fake wannabes that "don't get it"?

Or that's how I always thought people meant it anyway Smile.

Someone with an interest and passion for motorcycles. By that, you can be a "genuine biker", but not actually ride a motorbike, as there are many people with a great passion for them, but that cannot ride them. Similarly, not all car drivers are petrol heads, most just drive a car to work because they don't want to walk!
