The wind was mental, I'd probably fly away Shocked

Penguins were funny, especially the one that flew out the water then slipped backwards Laughing

It was one of the best things on TV I've ever seen. Every shot was just superb. I found the way Killer Whales knock seals off small pieces of ice really interesting.

That Penguin left on the ice thinking 'oh shit where do I go'

It is one of the best wildlife series' I have seen in a while. I've always been fascinated by what goes on under the ice and the camera shots of beneath the ice are spectacular.

That caterpillar last night was great, the worlds oldest caterpillar. Wakes up in spring, eats like buggery and "dies" through winter where it freezes solid. Does this for 14 years, changes into a moth and only lasts a few days as a moth before getting dead for good.

Mad!

Also watching it. Good program. I have started watching TV again due to the Catch up on demand thing on my Virgin box. A documentary at dinners quite nice.

Indeed, he seemed to be saying 'ahh fuck it'. before slipping below the waterline like an early victim in Jaws...

I love all of Attenboroughs stuff, him and the film crew are absolutely amazing, but mostly his film crew who spend months of their lives just to get certain shots Thumbs Up I have the Life and Planet Earth series on DVD & Blu-Ray, pretty cool as you see him aging as you go through the DVDs. This series reminds me of some stuff he's done in the past, but it's still extremely cool, especially when the penguin nicks stones from the other ones nest every time he walks away, sly bugger!!! Laughing

Watched it last night with a few mates and a nice bag of weed. A lot of "wows" and laughs Thumbs Up
Crazy when the 2 beasts (can't remember the name) are fighting like something out of an old Godzilla movie!

Frozen planet this week was good. Felt sorry for the bird that survived the crash landing only to be eaten!

Was also quite funny when the camera man had loads of Penguins launching at him Laughing

I thought it was funny watching all the penguins chasing happy feet around on the ice, although not a nice outcome for him.

The wolf fight with the bison was amazing and so was the photography

definitely awards coming to that program when they give them out.

The Wolf/Bison bit was awesome but the Penguins always make me laugh. All the males were there all huddled up and miserable until one looked up and and saw the females, shouted to his mates and they all came alive Laughing They got some serious speed in the water though!

Also if I was a Polar Bear I'd probably die of boredom Laughing

Blatant Spam coming up.

To appreciate misery and cold read Endurance A story about Sir Ernest Shackleton's expedition to walk across Antarctica. Alfred Lansing cobbled this story together based on his own research and some witness/family/friends of characters reports.
Whether or not Shackleton was a hero is left for the reader to decide.

Cheap must read book. If you have ever felt cold and miserable on a bike think about feeling like that for a whole year riding an ice pack with little respite.

The penguins were great. Narrator says they are on their last reserves, completely exhausted having not eaten for months.

Then one sniff of the female and they all soon find extra energy.

Seems to be true of most species.
