The rain was so heavy tonight riding was a nightmare, no visability, roads partly flooded, loads of surface water etc, at least it gave me a chance to test out the tyres on my bike in the wet. The new avon road rider on the front which was on when I bought it aint to bad, lots of people say there unpredictable but I found it quite good, I'm not a hard rider so maybe it just suits my style of riding, A13 was chock a block so had to filter a good way, car drivers were good though pulling over to create more room, its definatley a whole new ball game filtering in heavy rain, the white lines are real slippy when you have to ride over them. Must invest in some rainex to see if it helps with keeping the visor clear, anyone else caught out in tonights downpour?

Glad I drove in to work today, although I did look like a drowned rat by the time I had run from reception to my car! Didn't notice the fecking huge puddle that was slowly consuming everything in the carpark until I was ankle deep in it. Consequently my trainers and coat are drying off in the airing cupboard.

Forgot my umbrella today too Sad

I was on the A13 with you - I thought there had been an accident or something because the traffic was awful.
Pledge 9or similar) on the visor helps a lot, I would avoid RainX unless it's a special visor version, the glass version won't do it any favours.

Sounds pretty boring TBH. Riding in a storm just isn't any fun unless there are some proper crosswinds and lots of rain Mr. Green

Fog is pretty annoying though!

Got caught out at uni without water proofs but strangely loved the 30 mile slog of filtering in torrential through downpour along the a66, guess it was the lightning flashes and some fireworks going off int he distance that made the whole things just feel awesome (till I got home and realised just how fucking cold and wet I was plus my Malboros got soaked right through Rolling Eyes )

Same, I had to ride an hour to uni in the soaking wet with no waterproofs. Then I was squidging around for 3 hours in completely wet trousers and wet bottom half of t-shirt.

I use this stuff. It works, does need reapplying every so often.

RainX is fine on visors, even Arai PR guys say so.

I quite enjoyed my ride home, was raining and fairly wet but with Pilot Road 2's you may as well be riding in the dry, bloody love these tyres

Those of you who rode on the A13 and A127, you from around Southend? Thumbs UpSmile

I rode in the wet today, luckily I had just got home when it started really coming down, but it was my first ever night ride, and my first ever rain ride at the same time. Thumbs Down Although the CBF took it nicely, seemed just as stable as in the dry.

I stayed at work 15 minutes longer, and just missed the rain.
The ride was still filthy though. Solid filtering from Blackfriars Underpass all the way to my exit.

I tend to leave my visor up, or half-flipped at the very most, so I dunno about Rainex or stuff like that.

About to set off for work just now, though - can't get away with leaving it much longer ... I think I am going to get a bit damp Laughing

I've always found Avon's predictable.
Predictably bad Smile.
Which is fine, providing you remember to take it easy and that if someone pulls out on you, still don't try heavy braking etc.

Only ever riden once in a really bad downpour few years back.
This morning was hiddious outside, pretty much most of the roads were underwater - So I waited a while.
I cant seem to find the nerve to filter in heavy rain Shocked I seem to go pretty stiff in wet weather Thumbs Down
