Firstly I No You All Hear A Lot Of Young Bikers Going On About What They Should Get Next, And I Have Been Through A Lot Of The Discusions Prior To Posting This, Please Feel Free To comment On Anything And All Advice Given Is Greatly Appreciated.

For The Last Year I've Been Riding A derestricted Twist And Go Scooter (I Am Familiar With Geared Bikes) During My Time On This Scooter I Have Had It To Its Limits Around Corners (I Live In Milton Keynes Roundabout City), I Have Built Up Great Confidence, And Would Like To Build Up Through The Bikes Rather Than Jump On A Larger Bike, Which I Am Unable To Push To The Limits, I Feel That If I Work My Way Up Through Bikes (Eg Two Stroke 50, 125, 250 Then 4 Stroke 600, 750, 1000) Then I Will Learn A Lot More And Be A lot More Confident In Riding And Will Learn A Lot Techniques Which Can Be Applied To The Bigger Bikes.

Therefore I Would Like Your Advise As Experienced Bikers, At The Moment I'm Thinking A Low Milage Secondhand Aprilia RS125, It Appeals To Me As Aprilia Seem To have A Lot Of Dealer Facilities In The Uk So Parts And Servicing Shouldn't Be A Problem (As Oppose To Sachs, Cagiva Etc...) Its 2 Stroke Light Weight And powerful, For Its Class (2 Stroke 125 Sportsbike) It Is The Most Available And Decently Priced.

I Am Looking For Excellent Handling And Reasonable Acceleration, Is The Aprilia?

I Intend To Get My Full Licence So I Can Ride The Bike At Full Power, Am I Right In Believing That The Test Consists Of Theory And Practical, And Is It Anything Overly Complex?

I Also Am On A Low Budget I Have Looked Around And Feel For The Bike I Should Budget £1650, For TPFT Insurance £850, And Have £400 In The Bank As It Is An Italian Bike Which Have A Reputation Of Having Costly Faults.

Thank You For Your Time

Scott

Get the Aprillia RS125 - have a load of fun on it!

Insurance - 2 names to remember
TELEBIKES 0870 567 3053
INSURANCE2000.co.uk 0845 130 2800

Keep working them off against each other - you'll end up paying 50-60% of what they originally ask for.

It shouldnt take long to get used to (and bored) of the RS, but it's a good starter for experiencing life after 7000rpm.

bollocks to reading all that.

Is it a ped boi asking which 125 to buy?

RS125. It'll match your trackies and trainers best.

He'd probably have read your post if you hadn't super glued your finger to the shift key.

Why would you wish to write in any other way? Especially as this forum frowns upon such annoyances?

As for being embarassed of having a 'ped - I have one and it doesn't bother me.

the reason i'm embarrassed to have a ped is because all other road users treat peds as anoyances, were limited to silly slow speeds which tend to jam traffic, i personally feel they should allow 16 year old to take a slightly harder test which enables them to ride a 125 that way at least were not jamming the roads up, well thats my view anyway, but i live in milton keynes the only time i can keep up and get past traffic is in the rush hours.

i don't mean to cause offence to anyone with this post i just feel that being restricted to 30 causes more harm then good.

You can do a full moped test when you're 16, it enables you to take pillions and have no L-plates.
