Looking at one of these locally for a sum total of fuck all tomorrow.
Wondered if anyone had experience with one, need one for a 4 mile commute 'cause theres nowhere to park a car and I don't want to ride a nice bike in winter.

It's really really cheap with no t+t (I'd spend more money on a night out after work) but it runs and all the lights work, as does the electric boot.

What sort of mpg would I get from something like this? Is it 4t? I'd plan to mount a stupidly big top box on the back for a lid and jacket, unless theres underseat storage?

Are tyre limits the same on peds? Tax and insurance are F all I guess?

Cheers

it's a 2 stroke with something like a 5 litre tank.

Should get 100mpg out of it.

Is it beige/yellow?

No underseat storage as far as i remember, it's the tank

Peds only have to have visible tread to be legal so 0.01mm

Tax = £16/year, insurance as per your guess Very Happy

I had one years ago, Marmalade is right in saying there's no underseat storage so you will need that top box. If it's anything like mine was it will be reliable if slow and it won't care for hills in the slightest. On the plus side if the lights work and the horn goes beep you'll not have much trouble getting it through a test as there's so little to them.

It's a bog-basic 2-stroke commuter moped.

Absolutely dog slow. Expect 20-25mph out of it flat-out. They usually come with a shopping basket.

Tyres won't be much more than a tenner.

If it was me, I'd expect to pay about £45 for insurance.

i used to have one as a poor student, 30mph -35mph was as fast as i ever managed,
on the plus side they are fairly easy to get a few more mph just by changing the rollers,
and a few more if you don't mind spending 50 quid on a big bore kit

i used to be able to clear the doubles at my local bmx track on it Very Happy
fun times

Sadly it turned out to be not even worth £50, and I was not amused at the wasted trip. 'Good condition' to me is not a frame with holes in it, and an engine filled with water.
