I got rid of my bike this year , to force me into a health kick so 3 stone later and a lot fitter decived to put the money aside for a bike Spring/Summer 2012 so possibly around £2500 however when i was having a look around I still like bikes at around £1200 mark.

SO the question is , is it worth spending the extra grand or so on a newer / more expensive bike.

It will just be for general riding a a few long distant 500 mile or so trips.

I was looking at another Bandit , ZZR etc sit up style bike with a bit of poke when i want it?

Any suggests go for it this year or hold off

If you're looking to buy in spring or summer then the extra money you're looking to spend will largely be swallowed up by buying at the most expensive time of year.

Save more and buy in December/January IMO. Thumbs Up

ZX9r, buy it now and spend all winter cleaning it and tweaking it if you don't want to ride in the winter. Much cheaper now than in spring.

Cheap, powerful, reliable, like a ZZR6 on roids.

Will have about a grand left over to spend on jelly beans, pork pies and sausage rolls to get back to your former self too Thumbs Up .

If you're not going to use the extra handling available, then might as well stick with the cheaper one.

Another vote for a zx9r being a good all rounder - consider some higher bars if you find that an issue.

You could get a really pretty one for £1400

There's plenty about you shouldn't have any problem finding one.
