Well was with this burd for 2 months, she went a little cold on me, being a bit confused i kept texting her and didnt drop her like my friends told me to, we split up, kept texting she led me on to think she wanted to get back together, just found out now 3 weeks down the line of texting her that she has had a new bloke shes been seeing for awhile whilst leading me on
So fast forward to this morning a loud authoritive knock on the door, and its a copper telling me hes been sent round to give me a harassment warning, i protested about this but didnt seem to change anything..
Do these go on your record? im not restrained from going near her just seeing her i think?
What would you all do, to be honest im pumped that shes brought a copper to me door...

If it was a warning then there's nothing on your record and you are under no legal obligation to stay away from her. I wouldn't push that though, the police have better things to do than get involved in something like this.

Avoid all contact with her, get on with your life.

Always best to contact a solicitor, record every text message. (I'm not giving you advice merely information) It also depends on the warning or Caution? Either way it will unlikely have no impact on a CRB or EnhCPR check. (Consult with the police if your worried)

Harassment according to Halsbury's laws is that A person must not pursue a course of conduct which amounts to harassment of another and which he knows or ought to know amounts to harassment.

They need two occasions where you've harassed her. Actually doing a load of research atm on harassment and civil liability of employers. I believe text messages which are regular enough can amount to harassment even if they are not inappropriate. However annoying someone isn't enough.

I wouldn't want to be accused of harassment if i'd not harassed anyone. I would contact the officers who gave me the warning/ caution and ask for further details and if there is a need to appeal

Unless you were mental enough to agree to accept a Caution - surely nobody still does that? - then all you had was an informal chat. It may even have been with a Plastic Plod, they can look quite like grown ups in bad light.

Don't sweat it. The chavclasses today (hello) grass each other up for harassment as a recreation, and yes, it's usually the slags that do it. For some of them it's practically a calling. The police, by and large, could not give a stuff, but do have[1] to investigate it just to tick the "no further action" box.

That said, if you're bovvered, wait a couple of weeks and file a Subject Access Request about yourself with the local Farce, see what they have on you.

[1] A sworn constable doesn't strictly "have" to do anything other than follow his oath to the crown, but the box tickers essentially run the service now.

police can read deleted phone texts,especially now we have multi gigabyte memory cards in em,so most texts dont get mutipley written over and stay readable.the police can also establish when/where location,not just for texts but where you are ,so if you want to punch her in the tits for abusing the rightfull laws protecting women from violence,leave your phone at home and get a freind to text some other freinds on your phone.HEY PRESTO you get to punch her in the tits AND use your phone as a perfect alibi,prove it bitch!!!!Just don't go to the offy to buy a celebratory 8 pack as you'll appear on the camera,and don't use your credit/bank cards until after you return home.

to be honest the texts were not harrassment in my eyes, i did not accept a caution, it was just a informal talk,but apparently if im found near her and she reports it i will be takin in for questioning without question. im moving on, im just a little pumped about calling the 5-0 in for something so petty, i cannot see why she didnt just get 02 to stick a block on my number?
I wouldnt think of giving the number out really, as it only takes one of you to stitch me up and ill have a copper round here again and being done for harrassment?

Id go for the messed up in head, shes always been a little strange, but not enough for me to make a big deal out of it. Maybe worth imaging your phone at the moment. That way if you do end up taking it further you have a back up of what was sent. If the messages become deleted or overwritten you still have proof. Also run an MD5 sum and write it down. It's very very easy to recover data from disks.
