i was asked yesterday to pick a friends bike up a tzr 125 hes not done his cbt yet
all fully legal i checked the bike over to make sure it was all ok
riding it home it started to pull to one side i thought hmmm wierd but maybe its because of the position and im unfamiliar with the bike
so i carried on then i heard a pretty big bang
and the arse end was fish tailing all over the busy rush hour road
( shit hanging out of my collar at this moment in time )
how the feck i didnt come off anyways managed to slow down keep calm and stop and the rear tyre had blown off the rim on one side
lucky escape i reckon and i was only doing 30mph glad i wasnt going any quicker

If it came off the rim on one side then either flat tyre or badly seated bead would be my guess.

Either way, nasty, good work on keeping it upright.

Hi

Ouch. Tyre off the rim sounds nasty (although an odd failure unless something else went wrong first).

All the best

One of my worst fears in riding some other cnut's bike.
If the tyre has been injured it is sometimes invisible (until later).

I would guess low pressure cause tyre to come off due to overheating.
The compound softens until it loses it's mechanical integrity and fails.

Lucky to live to post.

It is know as being 'A Jammy bastert' in Glasgow.

dunno what happened as id checked the tyres before i set off must of missed summat maybe
he had the tyre reseated today and pump back up and it has a super fast puncture so hes bought a new tyre instead of having it plugged
