Hi all,

Sorry about another insurance realted question, but I'm looking to buy a second bike, and I was wondering how easy it is to add a second bike to your current policy. Do many insurance companies allow it as standard, or might I have to get an entirely new policy?

Also, has anyone declared any modifications on their policy? I would imagine that I might have to being that I am planning on buying a TT600 without a fairing and turning it into a sort of streetfighter...

Obviously this is not a performance enchancing modification, but I would have thought you would have to declare it!

Any input appreciated! Smile

Actually, I've been wondering about the same thing, as I'd like to get a second bike for over winter but no way could I afford another policy.

Danny, where art thou? Laughing

most companies now will add a 2nd bike for a small amount, certainly cheaper than 2 policies... just ring and enquire..

not sure on streetfighter bit

Call your insurance company and ask them how much they will add a second bike for. Thumbs Up

Personally I would get another policy, maybe TPO... this means if anything does go nasty you've got something to fall back on.

Also useful as I've found that Tescos will accept bike NCB for cars etc.

Hi

Some companies do multi bike polices, others will just give you a decent discount on a second bike. Think when I had a multi bike policy they insured the most expensive and then added the others for a nominal admin fee (£15 a year each for bikes worth under £3k). You will have to tell them about the mods, and if these will change quite often then you might be best going to someone who specialises in such polices just because otherwise you might get hit for an admin fee for each change you notify.

By the way, Triumph have already done the work to make a streetfighter from a TT600 with the speed 4 unless you want a bent frame Laughing .

All the best

Keith

Thanks for that info.

I'll need to talk to my dad about getting a bad weather commuter bike first.

So I can expect to pay a fraction of the cost of the original policy? If Zenith allow multiple bikes that is.
