Looks good in blue, why spend time and money changing it to black? It'll just look like it's been crashed. Don't chrome the engine, just clean and paint it.

Chrome plating will require you to take the engine apart which is going to be neither cheap nor easy, also the plating itself is going to cost a fair bit!
Engines don't get massively hot, probably about 250C on an air coolet bike (exhaust gets far hotter, up to 600C) and there are paints you can buy that will take these temperatures, Halfords sell them. I painted an air cooled engine using chrome enamel paint, looked pretty good i think.
Of course you should really clean the hell out of anything before you paint it rather than just covering over the oil and dirt with paint that's not going to stick to it.

Your never ever going to get 3 1/2 grand for a cg to buy a r125 ( which are shit and slow anyway)
you might get a grand if you do it up very well to a very good standard, then get a rs125 Thumbs Up
Panting it black will make people think it was crashed also.
Chroming the engine and " metals" will be ridiculous, expensive, over kill and really not worth it, nice lick of silver paint on the engine and the rest of the metals blick.
How much did you pay for it ? 300 ish , does it run?

i had a look at the rs125 and i must say very nice bike i think ill go for one of them.

I paid 50pounds for my current bike and it all runs just needs around 100pounds spent on it to get it through a M.O.T

Also the plan was to sell this bike make money on it then buy another one for the price of this one and fix it and make some more money untill i reach my over all goal.

iv got an rs 125 and i absolutly love the thing, they are very fast(FOR A 125 BEFORE YOU ALL START LOL)wicked handling and just brilliant all round fun.but there not very reliable.i tried to maintain mine well to make it last but it ended in tears..have a look at my project and you will see the engine damage.so worth deciding weather or not you mind having a fun bike, thats not very reliable,or having a boring but reliable bike.would never sell mine tho.love it too much.but anyways mate best of luck with the project. Thumbs Up Very Happy
