I'm on a other forum (car) where there is a thread listing people who would be willing to share skills, garages, tools or whatnot to other forum members in order to to help out....

Which got me thinking.

I have a garage (well two really. One for the car and the other for the bike and junk), tools and some skills (although to be honest 'some' is an overstatement) and would be happy to share them to help people out or save them some money.

I wondered if there were other like minded people on here who wouldn't mind listing their location, their attributes (garage, tools, willingness to lend a hand) and were happy to throw the occasional helping hand to others in need.

I've seen people like Tef, Paddy and Keith putting themselves forward, but wondered if there were more of us out there who could spare an afternoon to help out, even if its to make the tea.

So my proposal is to add yourself to this thread listing what you can offer, and I can edit this post to include you.

If you are need of some assistance then look for the member closest to you and PM with the details of what you need doing.

Obviously the member would be under no obligation to help and could not be held responsible for any fuck ups that occur.

Could posters use a similar format to that below, so it makes it quicker for me to edit. Cheers folks.

Alex_B.: I have no skills where bike mech is concerned but if you want to store your bike in S.E.9 due to breakdown or whatever, behind a locked gate then feel free.

Manatee: I'm in SE9 and can offer tools and basic maintenance as long as it can be done at the kerbside.

St3v3:I have a few tools, but no storage anymore, happy to pop over to a localish garage/house.workshop and help where I can though

jjdugen: Salford (Manchester north). I tend to do servicing and repairs at a very fair rate rather than free, but I have good facilities, tools and a fair dollop of experience. Based in but can travel and have storage and a van to transport really dead two wheel things.

nowhere.elysium (Gerry), London E13, Garage with generator (no built-in power, unfortunately), moderate mechanical competence, fairly decent selection of tools. Bring your own tea, I don't touch the stuff.


Mungel: (Ed) - Welwyn/Hatfield area. Off road (back garden) workspace, good selection of tools, mostly bike orientated (some car stuff to). Limited tech knowledge (have managed all own servicing on car and bike for few years without issue, including valve clearances etc), BCF / Google access. Tea and Coffee making facilities, Maccy D's 1 minute walk away. "Not a morning person"

pepperami: I live near Ipswich And Would be willing to help someone in need if I can on a recipricle basis. Tools. Welder. Some? knowledge?

Purplepill: (shaun) colchester (CO4). No garage but big drive, quite a few tools/oils/fluids/carb balancer and general knowledge, internet/phone, dont touch hot drinks except hot chocolate so bring your own.

Clanger - lives in Sussex, excellent tea maker (and will do re-fills without prompting).

andyscooter: Bromsgrove. Some tools, space limited knowledge. Good kettle and toaster

Rob Fzs: Malpas/Crewe. Tools and workshop in malpas if anyone stuck. lemonade for all.


Slam (Steve) - Near Humberside Airport, large garage with a fair selection of tools and a kettle.

Joe, Guildford, has tools, compressor, chain tool. Mechanically inept but will have a go if you're desperate.

Marmalade: A short distance south of Salisbury. Can make vinyl stickers cheaply, one offs to any design or many. Mechanically: Pretty good with most bits. Brakes, clutches, engine changes etc. Electrically well minded and loads of electrical bits. No warm dry working area but if weather is crap I can use in laws lean to round the corner and with a crime rate of about 4 crimes a year in the village bike can be abandoned in the garden until dealt with. Full range of hand tools, compressor and various tools to use with. LARGE range of st1100 pan european parts in the shed so if you break down I may just be able to help.
It would cost you though if I have to ride 100 miles to bring/fit the part.

fbmbmx: I live in Portsmouth, have space to store bike in locked lite garage with tools and good with two stroke engines. Not so great with 4 stroke but can do most "easy" jobs

McFlufferson: (Mark), BB2. No mechanical knowledge but can temporarily store a bike off road for breakdown recovery or some such and can offer a lift if your destination isn't stupidly far away. Still outside, but behind a locked gate and chained to a fence. Better than leaving it on the road and walking home I guess.

blade023: I'm near newton abbot (tq12) and have a few tools (socket set, wrenches etc) and can turn my hand to most things. I'd be willing to help out where I can. Also my contact details are on my website (shameless plug) if it's an emergency! Loads of free time at the mo.


SirToU: (Neil). From Portsmouth but currently in Cambridge area. Limited knowledge, few tools, but willing to help where needed.

Al: NR10 I have a garage, power, comprehensive motorcycle repair tools(hammer,large screwdriver and WD40) tea/coffee(starbucks prices) and also love making facilities for attractive women.

Mistergixer (Andy B) - Wendover, Bucks. Maintenance and repair skillz, garage with tools and power.
Food, drink and general hospitality always available.
Downsides: house is definitely not for the child-phobic, plus annoying wife who will.not.shut.the.fuck.up.....ever!

neil. (Neil) - Rayleigh, Essex SS6. Have a garage and driveway, both covered by CCTV. Not much room in the garage to store another bike at the moment but the driveway is clear most of the time if you need to leave it for a day or so. Have tools for most basic maintenance and servicing tasks, and power. Enough mechanical knowledge to keep a 125 roadworthy for 40'000 miles, not much experience with bigger bikes (interpret that as you like!), tea and coffee available. Also have a couple of generic Haynes books which might be useful.

virus: (John) Worcester, have tools, compressor, grinder, arc welder, competent mechanic, kettle, mcdonalds, kfc and halfords all 2 mins walk away and enough space to lock up a bike overnight if needed (no guarantees about it safety tho, i live in a shit area)

Carl_Steveo (Carl Obviously) - Sunderland, live literally a 2 minute walk from the centre of town. Have off road parking, general tools, bit of knowledge, tea, hot chocolate, pot noodles. Essentially if your stuck for a tool, advice or somewhere to park a bike off road in my garage then your more than welcome. Need me to go look at a bike your interested in i'll pop round if i've got time etc etc.

Ericck (Terry) Located Basildon SS14. Got a garage although not attached to house so no power, bring a flask if you want tea, very near town centre though.
Bit of a mechanical cabbage but after 30 years can now do basic servicing oil/filters/plugs adjust chain etc. Tend to tinker with my push bikes a lot and have have a fair selection of spanners, sockets, wrenches etc.

Kalamity Kid: Deal in Kent, near Dover. Have some tools and some mechanical knowledge, off road parking, side access to back yard, tarps. Best mate has a fully equipped garage with ramps, compressor, lots of tools, welding gear, spray booth etc half a mile away. I have a van and would be willing to rescue stranded members for fuel cost - close to port of Dover so might be able to help somebody broke down on way on or off ferry.

Radis: W12 - basic tools, amazing tea skills, great googling ability and close to a good underarch mechanic.

Computid (Adam): Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Plenty of tools and knowledge. Bikes or cars. If your really stuck I have space to keep another bike but my garages are a bit packed. Oh, and I can weld (badly) if your in a bind.

kingsknight: I'm the RG22 area (basingstoke) handful of tools. Mainly worked on 125's. Helped a few people get back on the road over the years. If ever anyone needs a engine stripping down on a CG I'm your man

Jamie S: (Jamie) Near Mold, North East Wales (ch8), Qualified level 3 motor vehicle technician, can be found/messaged on facebook "Jamie stokes" have a large garage with plenty of space, a bike lift, lots of tools, mig + arc welders, grinders, pillar drill, compressor, air tools etc , I can do body work/ paint work. I work for a BMW and MINI specialist and have use of the workshop any weekend if any one has any problems of the 4 wheel variety. Happy to help out any time, Mines a tea two sugars

I've offered several times in North section to help anyone out locally, have done so too.

Went to Stelmers in Leeds once to help him with his bike... but that day was so fuckin' cold and I had minimal layers I was more a 'stand and chat about' kinda hand than pick up a spanner.


I have a few tools, but no storage anymore, happy to pop over to a localish garage/house.workshop and help where I can though.

Ok, folks, not skills but.
Fancy a holiday in Cyprus, need to recuperate after a bike crash?
I can put up two people in my spare bedroom, (1 double bed).
No charge, you pay for your flights, hire car/bike and whatever you eat and drink, you can walk the dog if you want.
I can offer, guaranteed sunshine, (May to Oct), and a shared swimming pool, (6 x 12m).
I work during the day so you'd have the place to yourself.
If you're "pale and interesting", you will burn in the sun, July, August & Sept are farkin' hot, you have been warned. Seriously if you don't do "HOT" this is not the place for you.

I live in the sticks, so other than a couple of Tavernas & a coffee shop there is no nightlife.
It's a 30-45 min drive to the sea/beach!
If you don't like dogs or cats don't bother, smokers welcome, as long as you do it outside, (same as I do).
Those of you who are partial to "alternative" substances, don't even think about it, here you go straight to gaol, you do not pass go and you do not get your £200!
