Right!

Went out saturday. Wasn't really a heavy one. Still feel shit now. Laughing

Tends to be the trend with me now that I get 2/3/4 day hangovers and I dont even need to drink alot to get it.

I'm only 23 FFS, is this what it feels like to get old?

Might have to knock it on the head at this rate.

If I got drunk on beer I'd be like that, but if I stick to whiskey I could drink enough to get hammered and not be hungover. I may wake up drunk, or be tired and a bit groggy the next day, but not hungover.
What do you drink?

I don't do hangovers.

Because I have learnt from experience to drink lots of water before I go to bed

I tend not to drink very much as a rule - I think I drank more than my share up to my mid 20's
However on the rare occasion that I go overboard, even the worst hangover usually only lasts about 4-6 waking hours into the following day.

Go out next weekend, but don't drink. If you don't have a good time, you may want to ask yourself why doing the same stuff with the same people is only fun when you've had a skinfull.

Then get fitted for your pipe and slippers. Wink

Make sure you are doing something strenuous the following day like digging the garden or building a wall - if you work through a hangover rather than sit through one it hurts less...

Lots of water before bed and something to eat. Half the time the hangover shitty feeling is lack of water and the fact that your blood sugar goes from being high after the alcohol intake and then it plummets while you sleep and when you wake up.

So the food helps as it keeps it up and stays at a normalish level when you wake up.

Since being at Uni I can safely say after thinking I was a 'hard man' in my school days where I could drink and didn't really suffer from hangovers that I get the worst hangovers ever.

Especially not fun when sitting on a checkout at Morrisons or stocking up the Wines and Spirits.

Don't generally find I suffer more than 1 day though.

I'm still not sure what I find worse, hangovers or comedowns... A really heavy night of drinking can easily result in me feeling worse the day after than if I was off my face on mandy Confused
Either way, lots of water before bed, a berocca in the morning with some food, then a spliff usually sorts me out.

My home brew wine gives me a major hangover Laughing
If I have beer on a night out I tend to be ok the next morning.
Cider tho - is a different story.
I do try to drink a pint of water before bed, but to be honest it takes effort & I just want my bed Thumbs Up

It's all about practice. The more you do it, the easier hangovers become. I've found hangovers getting worse as I don't drink as much anymore.

If I go out, spend a night on the beer, I wake up almost dead with my body and brain keen to make the full transition to the next world throughout the remainder of the day.

If I go out and spend the first half the night on beer, then switch to gin & tonic, I wake up full of beans and ready to take on the world.

I also find that the G&Ts result in a much nicer form of intoxication. It's more of a comedy drunk than the heavy, flopping, clumsy drunk that comes from beer alone.

You know your're getting old when you know you've had enough. It's an odd feeling which is just rearing it's head in my life. You just stop wanting more, even though you are not legless. Handy for stopping hangovers and marriage maintenence.

Never had a hangover before doubt they affect me as much as the common person, few friends don't have them either.

Hey,
When i was drinking fairly heavily 2 to 3 times a week i found that lots and lots and lots of water + a greasy kebab and chips really helped. Woke up feeling like a gorilla had sh+t in my mouth but otherwise fine.

I stopped going out drinking for a few years so now i really feel it after a night out. The last time i was paralytic on a handful of apple sours and a couple of double Vodka and cokes. Some how got home and found my bed but not sure how. Being physically sick for 2 days is not fun.

Cheers,
Shaun R.

Maybe you have a slight allergy to whatever your preferred tipple is?? Or maybe your liver is packing up. Shocked

When i get in i just drinks gallons of water, and eat a slice of bread to absorb the toxins

All being hangover is is a form of de-hydration, so if you can combat that ur sorted

Was out last week, got in a 3.30 off my face, and then was up at 6.30 for work feeling fresh a s a daisy Thumbs Up

I`m lucky in that I`ve not had a proper hangover for 20 years + Thumbs Up

Why? Smile cos I`m crap at drinking, so I dont do it Thumbs Up .
I can go on a night out and have 2 maybe 3 pints and then just go on the fizzy water and still have a good night out without a hangover in the morning Smile .

I like a sherbert as much as the next person, but I`m sh*t at being drunk so I just dont do it.

Much win and many pennies saved Smile

Lemsip Max.

It has all the stuff you need.

Paracetamol

I can vouch for the potency of this elixir having had Booze Flu several times.

Beer is the biggest killer for hangovers. Was out last night and told my self I wasn't going to drink much beer, next thing I know someone has ordered everyone a 5 pint pitcher each! Woke up this morning feeling very rough.

Friday night, 5 pints of carsburg. Still don't feel completely over it. Total lightweight now, 5 years ago 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of port would not be a problem. Now I just wonder why I bother.
