I've never:

Been on an 18-29 holiday.

Been to a big live music event glastonbury etc.

Had sex with more than one other person at the same time.

Did I actually miss anything?

What have you not done and does anybody who actually did it know if I/we missed anything?

It's overrated. Good that i can say i've done it... Has that unnecessary ego-boost feel to it.

But overall, not worth trying hard to get there really.

What about sky div... oh, wait Wink.

fatpies wrote:

Glastonbury is so much more than the music and is THE festival to go to - definitely a 'must do'.

Presume you've done enduro, motocross, trials, trackdays?
Car trackdays and drifting? Rally cars.

Overland travelling?
Bob sleigh?

Not done a car track day yet, nor bob sleigh.
Oh and no three(+)sums, nor the 18-30 holiday (and thankfully perhaps now ineligible.)

Never done the 18-30 thing.

Only been to glastonbury while working 1992/3?. Spent 3 days there mainly breaking into cars after the owners had had their keys (and everything else) stolen from their tents

the track day thing would be fun but a lot of money I could do much more with.

Done lots of riding through foreign lands but would love to do non euro overland distances.

A month off to ride around all the euro countries would be something i'd look forward to. hopefully i'll get round to doing it before it's too late

For 100 pound I could arrange a night in with 5 absolute hotties... Thinking

The threesome was crap, but the idea of paid (therefore they'z there for me) masses is vaguely amusing....

No urge to go to glasto etc. Sounds like a very expensive way to hear heavily distorted music by bands I don't know/like, whilst paying over the odds for stuff and dealing with lots of dicks with dreadlocks. Total victim of its success. May go to a South African trance party next time I'm there.

Things I haven't done;

Had a kid and raised the little bastard, sacrificing my life in the bargain. Missing much? Really? Honestly?

Taken mescaline/peyote. Yet.

Owned anything top of the range. Still rocking a ps2 ffs, and many have witnessed the oldschool cool of the CBR.

Built anything. I fix shit loads of stuff, but I've never built anything from scratch really. Not off my own back anyway.

Owned a lathe. I'd imagine pretending I had things I needed to lathe would help.

Things you should do, that are actually worth while;

Learn another language. Or rather, use another language. It's quite interesting mentally to change the inner monologue lol.

Go diving. In a warm place. With clear water. And big/pretty things. Seriously, diving the UK is shite.

Work/live abroad somewhere. Anywhere. 2 month minimum. You can start to break the conditioning of 'normal' from the UK then. It's possibly a one-way street though. The UK doesn't compare favourably with most places.

Things I've never done...

A bungee jump...

A skydive...

A trackday...

Invented anything...

Bought a brand new bike or car... (not that I will, what a waste of money...)

Owned a dog...

Climbed a mountain...

Been in a fighter jet.

I've been to Reading a couple of times when I was younger. I would recommend a festival if you can find one where you like 60%+ of the bands that are playing. And don't mind camping with 99% students.

I have never:

Ridden a sportsbike
Done a trackday
Jumped out of a plane
Watched a MotoGP race live
Any kind of off-road fun

Reading is particularly focused on both the music and thus due to the type of music, 'youth'. I still enjoy it when I go.

No one knows what bands are playing when they buy a Glastonbury ticket (at least not in the main sales). There tends to be a wider variety of people there. And both a wider variety of music as well as a MUCH wider variety of general entertainment. This is the just the bigger stages for Glastonbury, with probably a few times that smaller stages missed out: https://clashfinder.com/s/g2011/ , then there's the masses of other random entertainment not listed at all. From the air - https://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Glastonbury+Festival+2009+Day+1+HSTKfkF8VF1l.jpg .

A lot less dreadlocks too, since you can't get in for free.
Also, 'heavily distorted' sound is usually searched out - with current health and safety stuff, "a tad quiet" is the order of the day for a lot of people.

There days there are a few too many pretentious wannabe-hippies, but actually the numbers have gone down a bit if anything over the last few years.

Yes, I am a bit of a Glastonbury-foamer. But, it is a pretty unique experience that is way different from most festivals.

Oh and yes, still like to do a bungee jump, but less so now I've done a skydive.

Never been to Glastonbury and don't really want ot go now - too old plus I'd probably lose the kids...

Track days, bungee jumps etc are all worth doing. I'd suggest Cadwell and the bridge at Victoria Falls for max. kicks. Both have scared/exhilarated me in equal measure!!!

Owning a dog is fun if you have a lifestyle that requires you to be at home a lot - they don't answer back unlike the rest of the family.

Shagging monkeys and wanking in public I've yet to try. May never get round to it though as I'm allergic to lots of animals and its cold up north....

I'd like to cross the Andees by frog....

Glastonbury has been a load of fake commercialised wank from the day they fenced it.

Carrying on the glastobating - £200 or so for a ticket I'd say is pretty good considering the number of different things there are to see and do.

See plenty of people that do it with kids of all ages - including single parents with kids (of course what some do is arrange with a load of other parents to have a single designated kid-herder). Loads of stuff that's of interest to all ages.
